Ive finally gotten around to making an account on Tacoma World after lurking here ever since I got my first vehicle (my tacoma) five years ago. I bought it at 239,000 miles and it ran great up until earlier this year, at 292,000 miles when my headgasket blew.

Since then I've ordered lots of parts from LCE Engineering, including a couple of performance mods like a long tube header and an EGR delete. For the sake of preventative maintenence Ive replaced the timing chain, counterbalance chain, oil pan gasket (while it was still in the engine bay), oil pump, water pump, fuel filter, and of course the headgasket. In addition I've also replaced all the gaskets I removed and ultrasonically cleaned my fuel injectors.

I am nearing completion but after lots of research during this process I've figured out my next job is going to have to be a front end suspension rebuild (or at the very least my lower ball joints)

I'll make a build thread one of these days when I finally get it done. Putting a new gasket in the oil pan with about 4 inches of clearance while the motor was jacked up off its mounts is worth a write up in and of itself

Same here just started account. I'm doing lower ball joint here in a few hrs. Had mine fall off in parking lot,. Sounds like a major problem with these trucks and 4runners. Check our the Uniball kits TOTAL CHAOS made. Too expensive for me rn, but that's the end all fix.

    WelcomeA-Mont nice truck
Im trying to figure out how to upload pics and what not, first posts. Sad taco. I'll upload more later when lbj is fixed. Hope nothing else was damaged. There was some Fender damage as the tire went up into it, the door creaks when I open it as well. Seems straight forward simple fix.
Always check those ball joints couldn't imagine if I was up to speed when this failed!

So DOES the Total Chaos really fix this issue?! I wouldn’t want to spend the $1,000 if it really doesn’t. To me it seems like it’s the same placement design. And they only say they tested it for 35k miles. That’s not allot.
