Maybe a silly question but should you use loctite on any of the bolts when reassembling? Thanks!

Definitely need to replace the O-Rings.
The dealer didn’t replace them and they failed a week later. Had to take it back for them to do it again over a ten cent O-Ring.

Buy one of these or similar place it on the driveway in front of your truck. It’s been working for me for two years.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the orings and washers for the driver side that I took apart. They are like $5 each. I’ll check into that mouse deterrent as well. Was thinking about one of those under hood ones maybe as well.

I haven’t seen the under hood ones send me a link if you have one.

Edit: Never mind I just googled it. Thanks

Just did this repair yesterday, took me 10 hours to do while working alone. The worst part of the entire job is trying to get the old knock sensor wire unclipped from the two points that it attaches to the coolant crossover pipe. I was able to get the left one unclipped from below using my fingers because the wings were pretty easy to push in, but the one on the back center seems impossible due to lack of room and the clip wings being extremely hard to depress. With the new wire secured in every spot except for that one, it seems like it will stay put.

I replaced the intake manifold gaskets, but did not replace any of the 18 fuel injector rings. The truck started up and is running fine but I'll report back in this thread if any issues arise from reusing the injector rings. Also, when installing the lower fuel rails, I did not have to remove any of the studs, but I did have to use a little WD40 on the largest injector rings to be able to fully seat the rails easier.

The video was a huge help in fixing my truck. I was able to replace the harness by just removing the driver side lower fuel rail. The hardest part was getting the stupid clips released on the harness. Just like others I broke off the rear one but was able top get back there with a utility nice and cut off the rest. The only other issue was getting the lower fuel rail to seat flush and I think that’s because I used new o-rings. I sprayed a little WD40 on them and took some extra time to make sure the injector clips were in place then started tightening the two nuts on the rail and then its was flush. The rest of the job is easy but it sucks leaning over the engine for so long. Thanks again Vince for the help! Did I mention I hate mice?
