we really haven't checked out our new Tacoma for those problems, lol
BUT we did have a slight, how do I say, dink that was painted over at the factory or touched by the dealer. It almost looks like a chipped paint chunk gouge to bare metal painted over about 16th to an eight inch possible factory paint defect. I saw that at the dealership upon pickup but thought it was a tiny bug, "sigh". Our detailer saw it upon handing him the keys to coat her up

I noticed this too and was hoping most of it would go away after a break in period, crossing my fingers. It almost sounds like fan belt noise with ones a/c on, SAD. I've heard my neighbors Toyotas at start up and they sound pretty solid with a bit of a fast idle but noth'n like we hear with ours.

about a year ago following a new off the lot Toyota truck spewing cups of liquid out it's exhaust and I was thinking wtf and was thinking it already had a blown head gasket. "sigh"

then days ago when I followed my other 1/2 with the new Tacoma off the lot for the 1st time, I saw cups of liquids spewing on her acceleration, I was thinking we got a lemon that'll haunt us for as long as we'd have her but then thought the Dealership detailers may be hosing the exhaust pipe since I saw that other Truck do the same prior. Both instances happened near the dealership onramp to the freeway. lol, either the detailers stuck the water hose up the exhaust pipe to clear any salts or dilute it or it seems to be some type of liquid applied at the assembly plant or liquid applied prior to sailing on a ship to Hawaii

No sir, its stock "midnight black" paint. Its got blue, green, and viloet metallic in the paint. You can see it in the photo, if you zoom in. Most noticable in the sun when waxed/cleaned up .

I dont have money for a paint job, haha! I wish...

Show me a 3rd gen Tacoma without paint chips on the rear fender flares and then you can say no thin paint. I’ll wait.

I don’t have any of the issues complained about here daily either. No vibes or howls, no entune issues at all . My only complaint I have is the same complaint I had with my 09 and it’s the paint. Both Tacoma’s I have owned have been metallic colored and the paint is shit. The littlest road debris will chip the paint on the rockers.. that’s really my only complaints.. other then that I’m really happy with the 19 and love driving it. With that said I kinda feel the 09 was a stronger better put together truck from the factory tho

the coating detailer we used mentioned that Toyota's have soft paint and the SuperWhites degrades much more, idk, but I trust his words

i wonder if mudflaps would help out?

I can already sense it, my other half works in an Industrial area and having plenny rigs coming and going. Her Mini had a bunch of small paint removed knicks.
    oh well
