Just got the call from the dealership. My 2017 TRDOR DCSB MT was delivered this morning. Hoping to stop by this evening or early tomorrow to pick up the new truck. Pretty excited to trade in the god awful Jeep Renegade I've been driving for the last two years. Can't wait to go back to rowing my own gears.

Yeah, came from a MT scion FRS and it just wasn't cutting it in poor weather conditions. Didn't have the room for a second vehicle, so bought the Renegade (they had just come out) as it was a good all around compromise between utility and function... or so I thought. It's a nightmare. Cheap materials, terrible power train, and just disappointing overall.

I'm pretty excited to get back to being in control of the transmission and power delivery. Went form driving a MT to an automatic. Don't think I'll make that mistake again.

It's definitely a power issue. That and the attempt to force the maximum amount of fuel economy out of an under powered engine by pairing it with a 9 speed transmission. It just refuses to shift in anything near a timely fashion, hesitates on downshifts, winds up on acceleration. It actually felt dangerous trying to pass people on the highway because the window for merging would disappear by the time the car decided it was ready to accelerate. I have to say I was very disappointed with the vehicle overall. I know that the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee are the only two model still actually made by Jeep, but I was still expecting more.

I had to read this twice to make sure you weren't referring to the third gen. 9 speed transmission gave it away though.

It's black with the premium tech package. I've been debating grill changes for the last few weeks. We'll see if anything happens. I figure I'll drive it around for a few weeks and see how I like the look of the factory grill.

When did you order it? Just wondering how long it took to show up after order was placed.

Man, a Smitty99 response on my thread? I feel like a real member now.

Yeah, I had done a lot of research on the 3rd gen before placing my order. Test drove both, and just couldn't wipe the smile off of my face when I was driving the manual. Combine that with the fear of having a brand new truck behave the same way my Renegade had, and I just couldn't convince myself to buy the AT.

This makes me laugh. When I read this I had the exact same thought.

Good call on the MT. Wish I had been that smart...

Placed the order the week of January 3. So just under two month's from order to delivery. I've seen a few stories on here of people having to wait longer, but it seems like everything went well with my order.

I ordered mine back in December and it is finally due on the assembly line in the next week or so and is due at my Dealer at the end of March, that is if everything stays on schedule.

With smitty in your thread it can only go to shit lol. I think he's an alright guy though, just misunderstood and has a legitimate complaint with his truck. Congrats on your new truck, mine has Ben problem free, would like a 4.30 gears though.

Dude, don't feel like you need to get a Pro grille unless you really like it. I'm more than happy with my bedliner-painted grill. It seams to hold up well but if I do need to change it later I'm opting for a custom grille. Have fun with the new truck, I almost got a MT but my wife convinced me to get an auto. Sometimes I wish I would have gotten it though.
