Finally settled on a lift (I think) thoughts?

    ^ caster is too low. "Caster you want as much as you can squeeze out of these guys IMO, I think about 3* is a good number. This will dictate how your truck handles, too little caster and your truck will feel like it's 'floating' and following grooves and ruts in the road, wandering etc... too much and it makes it more difficult to turn. I'm of the opinion that you'll never seen enough caster on these trucks to make it an issue." To achieve this you would need after market UCA's.

    I wasn't expecting perfect, truck handles fine for what I need it to do, haul dirt bikes. I was just making the point that you can run factory UCA's and only be off on caster (in my case the right).

    I'm not knocking what you did. To each their own, but for OP question imo anything over 2.5" I would strongly recommend aftermarket UCA's.

    I have a 2" leveling kit and the tech said that the alignment had plenty of adjustment left with stock UCA's.

    Can't answer your 5100 question with first hand experience. I just have a top plate spacer lift. If I were to do it all again, I'd still do the top plate spacer kit.

    3" Lift with UCA, Grillecraft grille, XD rims w/ 285/70r17 duratracs, leer xq cap,
    This happened to me with my 3" thought I could get away with stock UCA and she wandered all over ended up with new UCA

    Mine only has a noticeable wander at highway speed, as a DD she acts almost exactly as she did stock but a tad rougher with the springs.

    it's your truck man. do what you want. if you're asking if those specs will work, the answer is yes.

    depends on how much lift and if gas mileage is important, I'm running 285's, nitto trail grapplers but they are heavy and thus my mpgs suffer.

    1.75 and say a 3/8 top plate on driver and 1/4 in on pass.... Or just 1/4 on passenger.

    the 5100's are set to 1.75" which will give you (drum roll please...) 1.75" of lift. The top plate spacer is there to get you up to 2".

    get a spring compressor.

    and use the search function to research, I can tell some of this is new to you - which is fine, but it's faster to get your info from searching

    dont even need a spring compressor.... search for how to do it without it.... much EASIER, quicker and SAFER to use the weight of the truck and the LCA.
