Finally Started to rust =(

Bumper rust is common on any truck. It is cheap, thin metal. I have it on my first gen rear as well.

 

Wheres the best/cheapest place to get a replacement chrome bumper?

I have heard rock auto has them cheap not sure about the shipping tho...

 

It really did a great job, very little surface rust... I would show a pic but it is worthless not that it has the recall corrosion shit is on it. But definitely worth it if you plan to keep you truck awhile!

 

Possibly a used one from some one wanting either a painted one (lots of chrome haters around) or someone wanting to change to an armor style bumper, etc. As far as some protection on the inside prior to mounting, I'd look at www.monstaliner.com for both their encapsulator (if you need it) and finish products. Much less expensive than LineX, much higher quality than other DIY products.

 

I'd try and spray it with bed liner or something, yeah it's not optimal, but hey it's probably alot cheaper than a whole new bumper.
