I think that's an excellent compromise. 31/10.5/15's won't look bad. They tend to appear bigger on the older, smaller Toyota 4x4's. 32/11.5's will give you that bigger than stock look with the lift, but save you a few bucks for other mods.

And my other question is are you keeping the 3.0L? or plan on swapping to the 3.4L?

keeping the 3.0 definately...hoping with just the 2" lift and 32x11.50r15's i wouldn't have to do any under the hood mods yet?!?! Would I be fine for now with just the 3.0?

this is alot harder trying to pick tires than I thought it'd be...now I'm starting to hear alot of bad things about the Kuhmo's...I'd love to have a mud terrain tire but want to get more than 30000 miles out of it...

I actually have the Kumho Road Venture MT KL71, i've put over 30,000 miles on them and they still have alot of bite left in them. I know people dont like Kumho but i'll back up this tire i havent had any trouble with them what so ever, plus they're really quiet on the road.

    at least its EFI though

Edit: to add if geared correctly it will be plenty of power. with the 33" tires, do 4.88 R&P's and it should be rolling great. from there if you still need to get more torque down when offroad, there is always Marlin 4.7 low range gears or you can double up the cases running two stock 2.28:1 gearsets ---> 5.20:1 snail pace (99.7:1 final drive ratio) :woot:

I've been told that working on the 3.0 is like peeling back the layers of an onion. You have to work through the engine compartment one layer at a time and it'll probably make you cry. Mine leaks oil from the valve covers and the oil cooler, but at 123,00 miles, I still consider it a relatively reliable engine. Not a power house, but if taken care of, it should return the favor.

And for THESE reasons are why I have a master tech here at the dealership working on my truck instead of me...Ya'll are talking way over my head on all this...As for the Kuhmo's go, they had just as good ratings as the BFG's did and I can get them for $109 a tire or the BFG $171 a tire...only bad thing I've heard abotu the Kuhmo's is that they are real hard and they get real slippery when its wet...Any input on this??? Oh and MY TRUCK GOES IN THE PAINT SHOP TONIGHT!!!!!!!

so we rolled in to the shop last night around 9:30...worked till about 1 (or basically talked about what we were going to do till about 1)...we removed front and rear bumpers, grille, headlights, turning signals, tail lights, windshield molding, door seals and door molding on the outside, and the side mirrors...I'm at work right now but my buddy is there starting to sand it down...paint looked AWESOME after it was mixed...I'm extrememly excited and will have a few before pics up soon but forgot to take em before the bumpers and grille, ect. was removed...

Yes when its wet they are a bit slippery but honestly for how well they perform, cost, and durability i think its worth it. Thats just my two cent's

Nice thing was I got the truck for $4000
I'd get some General Grabber At2's there kinda an "off" brand of tire but do pretty well in the mud for an all terrain tire. If you keep them spinning, they'll shad fine. Overall there a damn good tire for the money
