    Yeah, I'll bother him with questions about it tomorrow. Had the stuff in my Amazon cart but haven't pulled the trigger. I like the setup he and @Digiratus use but some of the APRS stuff escapes me. Been studying for the ham test.

    This is all true but IMO, an even better reason for aprs is that the rigs so equiped in the group can keep track each other in real time. I use the aprsdroid app on a samsung tablet and stock it with free open source maps. With it I can see where Ben is in relation to me as long as he and I are in the Ham radio's broadcast range. This allows us to get quite separated yet still be able to connect back up.

    Only a igate right? Digipeaters wont send info to the internet. Or are you just saying a digireapter could get the signal to a Igate? And if your phone is connected to the internet and your using that as a TNC your location can also get on aprs.fi corrrect?

    Ok... Yah i hate exam weeks. Last weekend all i did was study and die a little working on exam prep and then this weekend i had no hw and was like wtf i feel like im forgetting things...:annoyed:
