    Congratulations on the truck.
I looked for a year and a half and found the one I have on Craigslist. 87k 04 4x4 DC limited for 15k out the door. It was a panic buy. As soon as it popped up, i drove a hour and a half to go see it. Looked at the normal problem areas and offered 15k for it and bought it. The phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to buy it while I was doing the paper work. These DC toyota truck are very desirable.

Yes it took me more than 6 months to find a Tacoma. Of course I didn't look all day every day. I live on auto row, more used car dealers withing walking distance than I can count. But no Tacomas. The guys who work there are lazy they only want to sell what's sitting out front but I don't know how they can make Tacomas appear if no one want to sell.

I finally found one at a dealer in the next county. I kinda wanted an AC but I found a regular cab in the color I wanted (white so it'd be cooler on trips in the sun) with a 5 speed so I got that. It's a bit shorter for easier turning around when forward progress is no longer possible.

Apparently Tacomas are only sold when someone trades or dies and no one else in the family wants it, like F350 4x4s.

$14,350 book price; 2009 Regular Cab 4x4 SR5 if February 2013. I negotiated over 2 days doing my best to appear not to really care if I got it (carfax told me it had been on their lot for 2 weeks). When the salesman goes to talk to his boss don't wait at his desk, go get a free coffee or hide in the bathroom for awhile, stuff like that. The first day I told him we had to go cause my brother had to be somewhere (good cop bad cop game). They washed it before I took it and filled the gas tank because I asked.

I tried to pay for it with a credit card (I had the cash to pay for it) but they didn't like that, think of the bonus points I'd have gotten, so they took a personal check.

and ugly door handles. Definitely need to color match or go with black versions of each on my Limited. It's on the list for sure.

Too bad the Limited's didn't have the color keyed option. So I practically have your old truck...lol. I took my dc on a 4 hour road trip today and the seats are definitely more comfortable than the seats in my extra cab. Hunting down some 4runner seats will be well worth it. Ha, the parts swap hasn't even started. I'm busy throughout May but will definitely get to it going by June.

So do you have any plans for your new truck? Keeping it stock?

Ya those limited seats are way more comfortable then regular SR5 seats. I'm looking forward to seeing what your DC will look like with all of the parts swapped over. Right now my plans for the truck are to take out the plastic bed liner, remove the running boards, and tint the windows for summer. In the long run I want to do coilovers, uniball uppers, deaver leafs, wheels, and some 255s. My friend owns the truck that is like your white truck's twin minus his being a prerunner. The main mod I want to do with the truck is move with it back to California. The funny thing about the truck is that I grew up in Pismo Beach and the person I bought it from just moved here from Bakersfield and told me that he has taken the truck to Pismo many times. I guess it was just meant to be for me to get this truck.

Sounds like a plan man. I can't wait to get this double cab going with the parts from my extra cab. I also need to remove the plastic bed liner and instead of transferring the add-a-leaf from my other truck, I purchased OME Dakar leaf packs. I was thinking of switching over to 255's on my next set...it'll just depend on what's available in that size when I need a new set. Your friend should sell his and buy mine so he can upgrade to a 4x4...jk. I remember him posting up in my thread. I'm in CA and live in San Diego but I grew up just 30 mins north of Bakersfield. If/when you do move, are you going back to Pismo? We'll have to meet up man!

Haha he loves his truck and I have been trying to convince him to covert it to 4wd. When I move back it will either be to San Diego or up north. Ya man I am definitely up for a meet up. Today I finally got a chance to take the running boards off and take it to get washed. I'm amazed how well it cleans up!

I paid 15k for my 04 with 74k miles. Almost had an 01 TRD with 110k for 11k but it sold before I could get it. Happy with mine but wish it had that locker..

I'm in San Diego and have family in the Central Valley as well as the Bay area. Hopefully it all works out for you.

I thought I found one with low mileage (2002 Limited with 113k). Still very happy with my purchase.

It's a yota man, I wouldn't worry at all. With such low mileage you just have a lot of catching up to do.

My father has an '03 DC limited 4X4 and a '01 Tundra limited 4X4... He doesn't have 100,000 miles combined on them. He doesn't drive them, he just rubs them with a diaper. I guess he is sitting on a gold mine.
