I have searched and searched in my 2011 Tacoma for the Brake Controller Plug that is supposed to be by the emergency brake in a mess of wires. I have looked in the Towing section of the forum on this WWW site and it was helpful but still can't find the plug. I hate to go to the dealer as they are under-staffed and said that there would a charge. I did buy my Taco used but used the Toyota site with my VIN and it says I have the factory tow package. I have hooked up my trailer using the 7-pin connection and all lights, etc. are working. Now I would like to add a brake controller as my trailer does have electronic brakes.
Thus, I am reaching out for more guidance on this. Thanks in advance!

I’m not in my truck today. Other wise, I’d post a picture.

I’ll see if I can dig up a picture here on TW.

Some brake controllers you will have to use that harness and splice into the new controller . It’s much easier if you order the harness with the controller. It will be plug and play.

My truck had that harness too. It’s in the trash:thumbsup:

This is the exact picture I used to find mine. Look for the foam tape. It will be around that area.
