New member here, thanks for the conversations I have read. I am specifically interested in the threads about the “frame rot” on the Tacoma. I have a 1990 that I have restored, it looks like the frame on it is solid. I would like to move up to a 1st generation Tacoma. I am hoping to find one with a good frame. I live in North Carolina which is not known for a lot of brine and salt on highways, we get very little ice and snow where I am. Any tips would benhelpful.

You will have to find one with the frame replaced or find one and take it to a shop and have them put it on a lift and check it out for you. GL .

You can definitely find them, my 96’s undercarriage looks great but it is relatively low mileage and I try to never drive it in salt.

As long as you know to check out the frame you should be able to find one.
