So as I was in there doing the 400W anytime mod I also decided to add an outlet. I wish I had remembered how the plastic parts fit back together because I had to remove my safe three times to fit everything back together properly lol. I went to the local hardware store and for $0.79 (I gave her a dollar and said to keep the change since I'm a big tipper) bought a small piece of galvanized metal and went through two cutting tips on my Dremel cutting it down to size. This is for a backing plate so the grandkids won't pull the plug through the plastic when they are done charging the Nintendo Switch or laptop. You can see the details in the images if you blow them up to original size. You can also see what plug I used. Used a 50mm hole saw drill bit to cut the opening. I wish I had drilled the screw holes top & bottom instead of left & right because the plug only had two attachment holes, so instead of putting the ground pin at the top I had to install it sideways. Oh well...

Backing plate is a good idea.

I got a small square outlet that has tabs to hold it in. Well, they didn't work all that well, whenever I unplugged anything, the outlet pulled out. I looked around for a better idea, and in the end I said the heck with it and broke out the JB Weld and glued it in from behind.

    That sucks :-(
If you open the 3rd image in a new tab and then click to expand it full resolution you can see the plate. Not sure what it is made of, was kind of bendy but still gives more support with the screws/washers/nuts holding everything together. Plus I have lots of it left over for my next project!

    This’d be a handy mod.
