I'm shopping around and currently running into the same line from all the dealers.

"Toyota isn't accepting/approving any FIO or PIO changes to allocated 2024 Tacomas"

I have had dealers say they will attempt the request but don't expect it to be accepted. The Internet has told me things work differently.

Has anyone requested or gotten a change on a 24? This is in NJ if that matters.

Yep, this is accurate, I tried to on 2 trucks I had at separate dealers, request was made and Toyota told them tough luck and it was all PIO options. I guess according to my guy some of those PIO options are being done at the factory, skeptical but can confirm along with others that order changes are not happening for most of us.

I was told in SoCal that Port installed can be taken off but factory was a no go. Regardless on the one I tried with they rejected it saying we aren’t changing anything right now.

Maybe on a slow selling Toyota model you can deal. 2024 Tacoma, not so much. The customer unfriendly allocation system stands between you and the truck you want. Most everything has minimum $1000 of stuff over MSRP that you may or may not want, and rising $$$ up from there. The sky is the limit!

If it’s on the window sticker it’s not “over MSRP”.

Point taken. If it's stuff you don't want, it's over the MSRP you want to pay.
