The Fire 8 tablet doesn't have GPS.

Is there a way to use my iPhone 6? Maybe I should get a GPS dongle? The Fire 8 has only one mini USB input, if I use a dongle can I power the tablet through the dongle?

Is there a cheap tablet with GPS I could look into? I currently keep the Fire 8 in the Tacoma to use with an OBD-ll app and it works great for that.

Looked into this a little and haven't found solutions yet.

You could try something like this Samsung Note 7 which is $68 right now. Has GPS, and also has expandable memory via a microSD card which is great for offline maps. 7" is on the edge, I'd say, but usable (I use a 7" Nexus 7, and I wish it had a microSD slot).

...looks like there's a used 8" Samsung Note 4 for a bit more.

I was recently looking into a Galaxy Tab E Lite 7.0" as a good alternative. I think they're like $60 or so. The larger ones are a bit more expensive, but not arm/leg prices by any means. I don't remember if it has an expandable memory card slot, but I honestly don't think you "need" one. I've been running Backcountry Navigator and Avenza on my phone for a while now, and the maps aren't *that* big. With all the other crap on my phone, I still have plenty of memory. If it's used as just a GPS nav unit, I think it should be plenty.

I considered a bluetooth GPS unit for my ipad mini, but those are easily more expensive than a Tab.

If you're just running some GPS nav programs, you don't need a lot of processing power, either, so I think the Tab E would more than enough to run it.
