Now, once you donate, I want all of you to go test your smoke detectors in your house. Code varies from one county/state/country/etc, but if you aren't up on your code, ask your local Fire Dept. They know. For me, code says there's one in every sleeping area, plus one on each floor outside the sleeping areas. And oh yeah, in my house, there's one in every other room too. Are yours old? Replace them. They have a limited life, typically less than 10 years. Take it down and check it out - should be an expiration label on it. You already test them all when you go around resetting the clocks on daylight savings time changes, right?! Of course you do. I'm crazy and go a few steps further. I have a fire extinguisher on each floor - one mounted in the laundry room which is beside the kitchen, one in a linen closet upstairs. If you are really some kind of safety nut, you even have an escape ladder in a handsome wood box by a window, because it's a long-ass-ways down! Yeah, I think I just called myself out of the dork closet. But it's simple. I can replace stuff - I can't replace people though. Be safe.

No need to keep the name list running. Chris is gonna print out the threads and show them to his brother this Saturday. They'll see everyone from your posts. :)

I was talking with Chris earlier and the donations and support are appreciated more than any of us could imagine. One of those things that's difficult to convey over the phone and impossible over the internet.
