Finally started building a gun, still waiting on some parts to arrive but its my first gun besides ones I've inherited from my grandpa. Pretty excited to see how it goes. 300BLK 9" pistol barrel... bought a banish 30 can but still waiting on my form 4 to come back... gonna be shooting suppressed subs only. Turns out I started building a gun at the absolute worst time, trying to find the parts I want in the colors I want has been a PITA. Been picking up ammo little by little every week, at least 300BLK isn't sold out everywhere around here like 9mm is. People seem to especially not be interested in subsonics which works well for me.

Ya, I hear ya, however, I retired from MN and moved to CA, Love the state hate the politics , "CA and guns don't mix", In MN, you get your permit and just walk in and buy a gun and take it home, MN has what is called a carry permit, (easy to get) concealed or open makes no difference, mag capacity makes no difference, Yes, you can get a permit to carry in CA, but its like pulling teeth, not to mention the $$, (I'm working on it) I brought several guns with me as I enjoy shooting, but left a few behind, CA is one of if not thee, most restrictive state in the union when it comes to firearms, so I stand by my statement

Does anyone have a preference for specific torque wrenches for the firearm workbench? I have a big boy for my auto needs. Feel like it could be overkill for smaller projects.

Got an AR finished up last weekend with the help of my brother. Went out Saturday night and put my first 20 rounds through it. Sight needs some adjustments, but I'm happy with it. The company was great too

I have an inch-pound wrench and a FAT wrench for lower torque stuff. I like the FAT wrench for gun stuff, it's more useful IMO.

I've also heard Fixit sticks are the bees knees but I'm leery of spending that much on a tool set I haven't handled.

I also have one of the FAT wrenches and have used it a lot on
scope installs. The LGS uses them and swears by them too.

One of our local firearms instructors posted a photo of a squib this morning and said that if any of her non-instructor friends could tell her what it was she would send a 25% off coupon, i happened to be the winner so I think I’m going to book an hour each of 1 on 1 training for both my Mom and Sister.
My sister is comfortable and has very basic proficiency but my mom is not very comfortable and only understands the safety principles so I think it would be good for both of them to train and I think having a female instructor will help.
