I’m looking forward to it, almost unlimited brass, free training, 5 hours/month commitment and at the end of a year we have a banquet with an open bar and raffle for firearms and gift cards, there are just too many benefits to say no.
An acquaintance is getting her certificate to train the RSO class for NRA today so I’ll probably use her for my RSO class.

Anyone out there a fan of the Windham Weaponry rifles. I currently have 2 of their SRC. One is a carbine gas length, and the other is a mid length. I've made some changes to both of them. Free floated the barrels, with new low profile gas blocks. Aftermarket triggers. My scoped rifle really likes the Federal XM193 AF90. I can keep 20 rounds in the 2x2 diamond at 100 yards easily. I actually shot a 3 shot group that clover leafed one day. I should have taken a photo of that, but most people like a 5 shot group. My first 5 of that group ended up about 1 inch. I figure anyone who will come out of retirement, get financing to reopen a gun manufacturing facility and put people back to work with years of experience already under their belt is my kind of company. Let me know what ya think of Windham.

I own several and they are top notch quality imo. I may be biased as they are located about 20 minutes from me and I'm a member of their indoor range.

The range/store occasionally offers models not listed on the website. They'll periodically make a run of special items.

Should I ever feel the need for another AR, going to take a serious look at Ruger's MPR, looks like a nice gun with most of the features I like already installed. I've been looking at maybe something in 6.5 grendel.

Here's a pic of the twins. I just put the JP Enterprises Flash hider on the Mid Length Rifle. Then swapped out the Scope and iron sights from one gun to the other. I need to find another one of these flash hiders, so I can have one on both guns. Just need to hit the range Tuesday or Wednesday to check the sights on both guns. The Twins.jpg

Anyone have any suggestions for a .22 caliber air rifle? Looking for something accurate but under $200.

Love my Crosman Nitro Venom. Been easily taking care of a squirrel, skunk, chipmunk and groundhog/woodchuck problem here all summer. Zeroed in at 25 yds/m.

https://www.crosman.com/nitro-venom...air rifles, stealth of Nitro Piston technology.

As you probably know, air rifles are quite picky with ammo. After trying many, mine shoots best with the red flight penetrator.

There are several good choices out there. I have a Remington Vantage 1200 branded air rifle, that looks just like the (Crossman) sold at WalMart. Mines a .177 caliber and I can shoot the bottom out of a soup can at 50 yards with no problems. I did put a better trigger and scope on mine which most likely bumped me up into the $200.00 dollar total investment. But the after market trigger is great, and so is the scope. I knocked a squirrel out of a tree at about 35 yards, one shot one kill. Just use google, check the user ratings, and shop around. For $200.00 you should be able to find a decent rifle for plinking and varmit hunting. My Brother bought a Beeman, and it turned out to be total junk.

I'm a huge fan of the 1911 45 Acp pistols. My first one was a Citadel full size, made in the philippines. For the money it's not a bad pistol. Next one was a Springfield Range Officer 45 Acp, and 3rd was a Dan Wesson Guardian. But I sold it because I was having a real hard time standing still after 3 spinal fusion surgeries. My 4th surgery in January 2020 was a great success, now I'm sorry I sold the gun. Might replace it with a S&W E series. Really like that gun. If I ever win the Lottery, going to buy the nicely engraved Ed Brown, that's shown in all the gun magazines, and maybe a Wilson Combat also. right now my budget is too tight, and I"m trying to do some needed work on the Taco.

I bought this about a dozen years ago

    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1015789726

I went out today to take care of a groundhog but because the rifle is in my air conditioned house and it was oppressively hot/humid today by the time I sat on the deck long enough for the condensation to clear in the scope it wandered off and the shot became unsafe.

A lot of people give this rifle bad reviews for poor accuracy. I've seen the same for others. The main factor is that out of the box they are like a wild horse. They need to be broke in. You have to run hundreds of pellets through mine (at least) before it becomes a tack setter. Now it is. Another factor is that you have to try different types of pellets. Each rifle likes something different. I've tried at least 7.

I like wood stocks but went with the synthetic on a whim. It's nice. Solid. A lot heavier than it looks. Nothing like my old Daisy pump action BB gun.

    What don't I like?

No iron sights. There might be a way to add them but........at least the scope is decent, it's just not air condition proof.

Single shot. Yes, it is capable of one shot kills. But two or more would nice because some vermem come in pairs and while it's not a struggle to reload it does take some work and practice to do it quickly. I've gotten use to just putting pellets in my mouth instead of my pocket. It's faster. I'm too old to worry about lead poisoning. :D

I'd like to try something like this

I’ve got a Stoeger X20S with a GRT-III trigger and while I like the gun, I just wish it had more fpe. If I had known then when I bought it what I know now, I would have bought the 22 cal version. I’d like to go to a PCP but I’ve heard the pumps are expensive, plus I don’t want to spend that much on one.

That's a really good trade Matt! That's an interesting finish on the Sig too.

Olight is dropping a Mini this week. I'm thinking about selling my Baldr Pro and buying one. I do like the 1,350 lumens though :laser:

Rob!! Glad to see you back I ordered the LEGO gun a couple of weeks ago. It was a good trade I had a G17 gen5 mds with a uso dot and cheap light an installed a oem threaded barrel. However I shot Joshs sig an feel in love this opportunity came along couldn’t pass it up.
    Ooohh that’s tempting I wouldn’t sell it that’s a good light.
    Pic of previous G17.

Yea, the PCP rifles are definitely a higher financial commitment. The returns though make for a more enjoyable experience.

Sup Brother Man!? that's the first time I've heard it called the Lego gun. This is my first larger caliber handgun, and/or new handgun. It's the very first gun of any type I've assembled. That was very rewarding. I have a Onetigris canvas belt holster, the Truglo TFX Pro (low) sights, the Baldr Pro, Real Avid cleaning kit, bench mat, range bag and 5 17rnd mags. Some ammo.

I need to get to the range and get the laser sighted in.

I think my next one is going to be a 12 ga. I'm not sure. Maybe a Sig? :D

Edit - I need to stop being a shit and get back on my Texas threads! :bananadead:

For anyone about to buy a gun safe, buy twice or three times bigger than what you think you need!
