Good thing I don't have a boat anymore!

It was lost (with my guns) in a shooting range accident!

Hey I couldn't help myself last night. I ordered one of those damn Olight Baldr Mini bundles while they were on sale. I opted for the limited edition grey, and pen light.

I'm going to compare it to the Pro I have and see which one I like on the G17 better. Then decide what to do with the extra. My next build is either going to be a .45 or 10mm so....................

There's too much damn inspiration in here.

I finally shot my Kimber .45 ultra carry2 after shooting reloads in it against factory warranty :anonymous:
Racking it one time it just went off, thankfully I point into ground and was at home in the sticks. Gave me about the best blood blister of my life.
I broke it down and polished ramp and got burr off and got a dummy round and cycled forever while watching tv.
Looks like it made it. And will have to fire only quality ammo from now on

Sorry this is so long but...... Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy :burp:

The sale the other day was a little better but if this light is sufficient for a home defense pistol (and there's no doubt it will be) then it really is a great buy.

It is only half as many lumens as the Pro version I have but one advantage, to me, is the Mini is rechargeable. The Pro is not.

I'm very new to any of these devices. These are my first like them. I suspect though, because of my experience with led flashlights there could be considerable differences in every aspect between different types. However I also suspect once you get into this price point the differences are minimal.

One thing I learned is, the beam pattern is important. My Pro is unlike anything I've ever seen. The center is super bright and at about 15 - 20 yards about 4' diameter. The output is consistent and the edges are not very sharp. I personally think that helps eliminate the need to "search" with the light which creates moving shadows. It helps to identify the target in a more natural illumination. The secondary surrounding flood beam though is such a compliment to th center spot. It's half as bright and equally as consistent as the spot so there are no aberrations at all. At the same distance, the illuminated perimeter grows to about 30'. This should enable you to clearly identify movement in your periphery very well without needing to adjust your aim.

The fact that Olight put the green laser inside the light on the Mini should definitely prove to be a better design for anyone concerned with using the light with a CC or duty holster. My G17 with the Pro fits nicely in the One Tigress canvas holster and with practice I've become used to needing to cant the pistol forward to remove it. I bought this holster specifically to protect the pistol sights and light during transport in the range bag and while at the range on the bench. I don't have a need for any other type of holster. I do think an appendix holster would be my next type if I needed another. Or a drop leg.

    :fistbump:

Any new pups? I actually thought I'd be talking with Mrs. Kolunatic about that with us working from home but we recently found out this will be temporary. We had hoped to make it permanent but.........I had to stop dreaming.
