It's called capitalism. Which is driven by supply and demand. Works pretty good if you're smart enough to be ahead of the curve.

Yes. Ammo too. I know a guy who bought all the 9mm a drug store had in stock back in January. They called him back offering to pay him more to bring it all back so they could turn it for a higher price on the shelf.

If you’re in the right state you can, local hardware store carries ammo and will order guns, the auto parts store in my dads hometown was half gun shop, it blew my mind the first time I (a California native) walked in there at 9 years old.

I found an amazing auto parts store on a recent backroads trip. It had a seriously impressive gun shop inside.

My gun shop's first location was inside of a driving school because the owner of the school is my business partner for the store

Heck, Western Auto used to sell firearms and ammo in all of their stores. In fact, I bought my first handgun for the Western Auto store in Victorville, Ca.

I got a western auto revelation 12ga shotgun. It looks just like a Mossberg 500. Infact it currently has a Mossberg 500 18in barrel on it.

Not sure how this happened but the crown and about 1/8 inch of the threads on my AR15 barrel are toast.Noticed the gun was shooting for shit group wise. Took the A2 flash hider off and it's all screwed up. Going to contact the gun maker tomorrow to see if they'll warranty the barrel. If they don't any suggestion on a decent AR 15 barrel 16 inch mid length gas system. Doesn't have to be top of the line big dollar, but I don't want a cheap piece of crap either.

BCM makes great stuff and so does aero and Rosco if you want something a little cheaper.

    Got pics of the failure?

I have 2 of these Rifles, one is a carbine gas system the other is mid Length. The pics with the crush washer are the carbine muzzle, the mid length is the one I was concerned about, but now that I'm looking at both of them, you tell me does this look right. I free floated the barrels on both guns, and put a better trigger group in. I used their stock A2 flash hider. Thanks for looking. 0357 is the flash hider I took off the Mid length. It looks like the very bottom threads are burned out or buggered up. just like the top threads of the muzzle. I haven't contacted the Manufacturer yet, but will this afternoon. I think the Mid length looks screwed up to me. Also when I took off the flash hider on the carbine, there was a lot of carbon inside. Let me know what you think. There not the best pics, but the best I could get.

    A couple of questions

    Who made the barrels?
Did you have the muzzle device properly installed and torqued?
Any evidence of a bullet striking the flash hider?
How old are the barrels and how many rounds fired both before and after tinkering with them?

@jim Beam, neither of these guns have had very many rounds through them, less than 1k combined. I've had 4 spinal fusion surgeries and don't make it too the range very often, and have only fired factory ammo through these guns. The carbine was the first gun I purchased, but recently it's only been fed Federal XM193 AF90 ammo which is shoots very well. The Mid length was my second rifle, and it't been fed a steady diet of 62 grain Wolf ammo.I free floated the barrels at the same time. Yes both flash hiders were torqued as tight as I could get them with an armorers wrench. The bullet question, not that I can tell. both of these rifles are made by Windham Weaponry. Could you see the buggered up threads in the flash hider. Funny thing is, it didn't give me any problems removing it. came off smooth as butter once I broke it free.

The factory flash hider doesn't have relief slots all around. They screw on with the slots facing up to prevent muzzle rise. The Center slot lines up with the gas block.

Anyone here built out a Ferro Concepts Slickster for home defense/range days? What accessories do you recommend?
