Have you tried shooting it with irons? Try it without the optic and see how well it does. Perhaps use a sled so you know you're consistent

No irons. Optic only for that rifle.

That is. The first one I had on it was a 3-9 Nikon Prostaff.

Have you checked the tensioning / locking ring?
I know you said it "locked up tight", but is it at the same setting as when you zeroed the scope?

I am not really familiar with the Ruger, but that accuracy is bad, Have you checked the Action Screws? I am not sure of their Torque value (don't over tighten) just a thought, good luck

    going to be fun!
You should be getting 1/2 inch groups or better at that range I know with mine im at 1/2 at 100 yards depending on ammo. At 25 yards with just about any load that the rifle likes, I would expect 1/2" groups to be easily doable with decent sights/optics. Honestly, I expect pretty much any scoped .22 LR rifle to be capable of "one ragged hole" at 25 yards.

Haven't tried anything shorter than 25. I'll take it next week and shoot at 5, 10, 25. Thank you for the idea.

That is locking ring is tight. Set to the way the book says. I haven't taken it apart since I put the optic on. It has sat in the safe.

I figure if I need to get into the internals of it I will just replace the trigger with more of a match level.

Me too. That is why I can't figure this out. I shoot tighter groups with my 22/45 at that distance than the 10/22.

How many rounds through it? Could it be lead fouled?

If you can try a different optic. I had a scope (ironically a Nikon Prostaff) that had something loose internally. Would cause a shifting point-of-impact every shot and large groups. Just something to consider.

Course if you try it and its still the rifle....I'd be sending it off to Ruger for warranty work. Make them spend the time and $ on parts to fix it

About 500. Cleaned and oiled every time I took it out.

It did the same thing with a Nikon 3-9. I think I might just need to put it in a sled and make double sure that it is the rifle.

I third this. Sled, start out at 5 yards, and slowly increase to see if you notice a pattern

What's the trigger like? Ruger 10/22's stock triggers are some of the heaviest.
