Want some opinions, can't remember if I've asked or not , I've been tossing the idea around for a while.

I've got a leupold mark AR 1.4-4x20 that I had on my AR when I first got it. I got an acog and took the leupold of my AR. I'm thinking about taking the scope and putting it on a marlin 336 to use as a closer range/brush deer gun

    What y'all think?

Yes, I understand the difference, and I shouldn't have been so hasty in typing, yet his response shows nothing more than being a db response.

Whoa! lol You ARE lucky! Lucky it also didn't shatter a bone or something, too. Did the other guy ever find out what he did?

Yeah. I wouldn't mind hearing them....

    Yeah, let's hear it!

I wouldn't say I shrugged it off, though. I wasn't going anywhere once I sat down. Once something rips through a muscle like that, the muscle contracts and it feels like a really bad cramp. My leg just kind of went dead on me. I guess if my life was at stake I coulda hobbled away. Haha.

Oh, he found out pretty quick. He was mortified and apologized profusely. It's fine, though. What can anyone really do about it? It was just a freak accident. The range paid for everything, so no harm no foul. A deputy showed up at the hospital and interviewed me just to make sure there was no malicious intent and that was pretty much the end of it.

They had me up and walking the next morning and I was walking without crutches in less than two weeks.

That is some scary shit

Really drives home that any mistake when your using a firearm could kill somebody in an instant so safety is sososo important when handling one.

For sure. Pretty sobering reminder how quickly and easily things can go bad. Even with the tiniest mistake on the part of the shooter.

Right?? This is typically a very safe place, though. I'm the first person who has ever been injured at that range, whether by firearm or other cause. It's more of a club. Mostly members, law enforcement, etc., shoot there, but non members are allowed to shoot there on certain days.
I prefer shooting in the desert, but it's a pretty good haul. So if i'm just developing loads and compiling DOPE info, or if I just want to shoot steel, this is where I go. I don't feel any less safe than I did before.

A retired police officer friend took me up shooting today for the first time. Looks like I have a new expensive hobby. :D

    I quite liked the .357...

But one of those plus ammo could buy a nice lift for the Taco... Choices choices.

We just moved here 3 weeks ago and I've already found a person who will let us shoot on their property, and they have bullet proof glass to shoot at.
Now to break in my AR.

Till you shoot a hotloaded 10mm or 44mag :) (or heck any of the larger calibers)

But i do love my 357. S&W 19-4. Best single action trigger in a factory gun IMO. But it has ot much sentimental value so i dont shoot it to much. need ot pick up a used one or a 686

    I love our 686+

Anyone have an opinion on a sig 226? I can get a used 226 in .40 for $650, and it's tempting to get it instead of a M&P 40 pro (5'' barrel)

I love my sig 226 in.40, they also sell a conversion kit to convert it to a 9mm. It 300 bucks for the slide barrel and night sights.

CDNN has used 226 DAK or 229 da/sa for $500 and m&p's for under mid-high $300. Those are all Leo trades so the m&p isn't the pro model.

Why would somebody get a sig 226 in .40 then get a retro kit to convert it to 9mm when you can just get it in 9mm in the first place? A friend of mine has the 226 in .40, but I haven't talked to him about it for awhile.

I will keep going on Walther since I love mine. You can get Walther in 5" barrel chambered in .40 as well. I haven't touched the 226, so I can't say anything about it. I also have my MP9 with 4.25" barrel and I like the grip on the Walther a lot more than the S&W
