No indication of the shell getting hung up, chamber appears smooth to the eye and to touch

It almost sounds to me like extractor tension or geometry is out of spec, Check the extractor hook, spring, and ejector surface, and spring. Make sure both move freely through their range of intended motion.

It sounds like a Defective alignment of bolt assembly to battery lock-up.

Has anything changed since you shot it last?

I have some but they're for when I launch them. Check these out. I keep at least one kit at the house.

Without putting my hands on it I can't really help you any more. Do have a question, why own a gun you only put 10 rounds through a year?

    Because this is America

and I own a gun store…plus work a full time job…so time is at a premium and when I have time to shoot, I generally don’t choose my shotguns

Also saw this today. I am not sure it would offer me anything over my legion 226, but it was comfy in the hand :)

I also saw one badass Marlin 45/70 lever gun that I really wanted. I would like to shoot one and feel how it kicks.
