Thankfully, the EDC is planned to be an M&P2.0 9mm with the optic ready slide and co-witness iron sights. I don't have to worry about giving up the rear sight to add an RDO.

I’m looking at the performance center shield that’s optics ready. Wish they made the optics slide already ported but such is life, my local gunsmith can take care of that so I can have the best of both worlds. The crimson trace shield adds almost another inch to it.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I put some RMR on my pistols, all have co-witness iron sites. It has taken me some time to get used to them, as at first they were more of an obstacle.
As though I was focused on the dot rather than the target, more maybe just being distracted by it.
I practiced with it daily, in which I would lower the intensity, to the point where it almost wasn’t visible…using the iron sites.
I would gradually intensify the reticle over a few days of shooting.
I feel now that when I draw I am not looking for the dot at all. My muscle memory is back to where it was before I had it on there. I also will say that I tried my buddies rmr that had a circular window, and I found that to be even better for me personally. Next one I get will have a circular window.

I’ve done similar exercise and found to be beneficial. My latest optic I got the Vulcan reticle which some say is for beginners, but many still find it beneficial. I would consider myself a beginner compared to someone trained in any sort of combat weaponry. Holosun doesn’t mention it on their website but I got the reticle in the 407c.

gonna stay out of the holo/dot site debate. just isnt for me. but i dont do "tacticool" either.

but since it seems like we have a good CC crowd here: a buddy over on our site is now offering holsters & they look pretty good. he's making me one to try out.

he has a "anti belly pincher" on the inside of his designs. now that my washboard abs have become wash over the belt abs, its a must.

Vortex is imo, the crappiest RDS manufacturer. They suffer from PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) dimming and low refresh rate LED emitter leading to dot flicker during target transitions. Look it up, they're known for this and still can't/won't fix it and build a proper optic with good electronics inside. The flicker goes away at full or near full brightness but then you don't get the advertised battery life as the PWM is what's responsible for prolonging battery life.

90% of users likely cant shoot fasr enough to experience the flicker. I havent yet and i can shoot pretty fast.

i’m probably gonna piss a lot of people off when I say this but I see a holosun as just like a Ford, a Polaris, a Harley Davidson, or a McDonald’s cheeseburger, they may all be popular and lots of people might love them but that doesn’t mean they don’t fucking suck collectively.

If you like what you like, continue to like it because nobody’s gonna change your mind.

Edit, i finally fixed this jumbled garbage I posted above

I view Holosun in the same way, they make decent stuff for the price but the 2 507c x2 I own are complete garbage, the edge distortion that extends halfway in to the center and the chromatic aberration is utter crap. That's $500 I could've spent on Aimpoint, Eotech or Trijicon. The 503 and 515 RDS is fine but the battery tray with tiny screws and push buttons is what led me away from them, give me a screw down battery compartment and rotary dial.

Midway has them for the same price. I like that it appears to have a "shield" above the optic...similar to how EOtech does it. Should help with longevity.

Any experience with them? I like Leupold in general, so I would expect a quality optic....but seems like all/many of the RDOs have some detracting qualities.

The Sage Dynamic review, he tested 2...both broke the glass on the drop test and the optic body height is large enough that it prevents the backup iron sights...even with suppressor height sights.

I bought one from Midway last week - I thought the sale ended, but I guess not.

I have not installed it yet - I need to get new iron sights as well. I do have high hopes for it.

All my glass is Leupold, so obviously I really like their stuff. The only other electronic device I have is an RDS, but I don't have a lot of time using it, so I can't say anything about detracting qualities.

I have little experience with a variety of brands but put the Eotech on my 17 and really like it. Same footprint as Delta Pro

Delta Point Pro for me. But on my 365xl the EPS Carry multi dot has been wonderful. I just don't like that I have to stock up on yet another battery type.

I love the ACOG on my go-to AR but use several Holosuns on other rifles and haven't had any issues. Especially the solar ones.
In fact, I sold my Eotech open reflex sight and replaced it with a Holosun HS510C. It's shake to wake and solar.

Basically stock. OME 882s, HD Dakars and nitrochrgers, TG front bumper, custom rear bumper, 4Xinnovations sliders, RAT skids, Softopper, 255/85/16 ST MAXX's on 16" steelies, 1" B.O.R.A. wheel spacers Scangaugae II, deck plate mod, grey wire mod,ECGS bushing, diff breather relocation, alarm mod, defrost w/o compressor mod, de-badged, sockmonkey beside decals.
Same here. Holosun is my go to anymore. The only issue I’ve had was they went a little excessive with the glue around the glass in a couple spots on one. Returned it and got another one that was good to go. I have three 510’s, a 503 that I’ve tried to fry, without success, on an Ultimak rail on one of my AK’s and then I just got a 512. all green reticle except one 510. I sold a Trijicon MRO to replace it with a Holosun.
