I’m the same except I’m 135 soaking wet. I havent got a pistol yet but the plan is to get one next month. I hope to CC with it, but like you idk how I’ll hide it. My plan is to try out the techna clip since it’s the most minimal design I’ve found. It’ll be like sticking the gun straight in my pants, but with the clip it’ll feel a little more secured in place

Picked up an XDm elite 10mm this weekend. Planning on ditching the 44mag for bear protection and swapping over to this gun.

I carry a 357 mag loaded with hot hunting loads in black bear country and a 44 mag with hot hunting loads in grizzly country. Been thinking of getting a 10mm to carry in “bear” country rather than the 357 or 44. I’d appreciate it if you could give me your thoughts on recoil and accuracy of the 10mm compared with your 44mag. I’ve put thousands of rounds thru my 44 mags and 357 mags but never fired a 10mm.

I’ve been meaning to get the same setup for my p365. I like my vedder pocket holster but something slimmer sounds nice.

I’m not a revolver guy so the trigger pull and ergonomics of the revolver are not intuitive for me and my shooting style/experience. I’ve always carried an XD (since they came out)

I practice with the buffalo bore loads for the 44mag yearly but there is little to no accuracy that I can develop (that’s 100% my fault in not dedicating the time). My thought process is that I can put 3-4 rounds well placed with the 10 vs one round discharged with the 44.

While the ballistics of the 44 w/ buffalo bore are quite impressive, the 10mm is good enough for me. Especially because I can shoot a 4” group at 15 yards with the 10mm. Recoil is similar to a 45, maybe slightest bit more

Yep, couldn’t agree more. I run into bears daily up on the ridge I live on 1 peak N of Mt. Mitchell. We have bear everywhere up here and my house sits at about 5800’.
They don’t pay me any attentio when I am out in the yard working. They just saunter thru from one river fork to the next.
I carry bear spray on me and also have a Legion P220 I carry. The new FN 10mm is also a nice choice.
