I just qualified at COCOSO for my CCW.

Now to wait… again.

 

I interviewed for my ccw a couple weeks ago

 

Is it like a job interview? Are they going to pay you?

 

Contra Costa makes you qualify with your CCW with holster drills.

In front of the sheriff.

 

Each county is different, San Bernardino has a drill but not from the holster. Although thry do encourage you to take training and practice.

 

NC take NRA CCW class finger print with sheriff office, call you in 10 days.

 

In FL you are required to "fire" a gun. When i took the course, they took us to a range with a beater 38 revolver, lined everyone up, and told us "do not aim, just fire downrange quickly and step aside". I got yelled at because I actually aimed at the target.

 

Good lord.

 

When I renew I go to the sheriff's office fill out renewal paperwork and give them my $75.00 and within a week I can pick it up.

Fire at will. He's over there on the mountain top.

 

Yessir $2/hr. Lol Nope I live in California but luckily my county is one of the ones that will issue a ccw. Have to interview with a sheriff (bunch of yes or no questions and why you want a ccw), take a class, then qualify at the range.

 

Yea it’s wild in NC too. Granted you do have to actually hit a target but the max distance is 15 feet

I was the only one in my class that owned a handgun and only one of two that had ever fired a handgun.

honestly, full score qualification for ccw class should be mandatory. I was blown away that the 15 or so other folks in my class would be capable of carrying at the end of the day.. one lady had never even held a handgun and had zero clue how to shoot it. Thankfully I think I overheard the instructor telling her that she’d need to retake the course at the end of the range time.

 

So if anyone’s curious, you do six rounds at 5 yards in six seconds, six rounds at 7 yards in 10 seconds, and six rounds at 10 yards in 15 seconds.

You have to draw from holster, reload from a magazine carrier/pouch, and safety reholster your loaded weapon.

Malfunction doesn’t penalize you, but you’re expected to TRB.

Head shots and shots outside of the target are minus 10 points. Total score is 180, I think I got a 174 and a 172 with my 2 guns.

 

In Florida, you can qualify by shooting at someone on the interstate.

 

Hardest part in South Carolina is driving to the class.

 

All I had to do was put the pistol in my holster. But I live in Ga.

 

I thought that was only in Georgia

When I live in Ohio, just stiffed inside out jeans

 

Man I saw a kid in sweatpants with a glock with 30rdr just hangin out his pocket not too long ago. had to keep pullin up his sweat pants.

Ive gone without holster before but itd be with da or da/sa and or safety. I always wondered if that kid kept the glock loaded, and if so has he shot his leg by now?

 

I read that as COSTCO and got really confused for a minute

 

Didn't renew mine, tbh. Not worth it with the place restrictions.
