would this be a good setup for a Rem 700 XCR .308 rifle and this is the last I have to do? Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP w/EBR-2C MOA reticle with a offset cantilever mount?

    Define “good.”

will it track as well as a Schmidt and Bender…no
Is the glass and color going to be as good as anything $1200 and above…no

Will you need a 20moa base or something for more elevation…maybe…depending how far you plan to go, now or in the future.

do you have solid experience and technique in precision rife? If not, and if that’s how you plan to use it, then you may consider a bubble level.

If you shoot with timbered back drops and have bad eyes, consider a scope that has illuminated reticle.

also, because it’s a cheaper scope, if you’re opting for the 6-24 power, that last 18-24 becomes very difficult to use. Especially in low light.

Is the glass and color going to be as good as anything $1200 and above…no Vortex glass seems to be clear for my old eyes im really trying to keep it under $1,000

Will you need a 20moa base or something for more elevation…maybe…depending how far you plan to go, now or in the future. 500/800 yards

do you have solid experience and technique in precision rife? If not, and if that’s how you plan to use it, then you may consider a bubble level. Above average I would think. I did hit steel at 1200 yards with a .50 cal but that was with a rifle totelly set up buy Barrett ....

If you shoot with timbered back drops and have bad eyes, consider a scope that has illuminated reticle. This Vortex has a illuminated

also, because it’s a cheaper scope, if you’re opting for the 6-24 power, that last 18-24 becomes very difficult to use. Especially in low light. This scope seems to be decent for me as I have shot out to 400 yards with one on a Rem 700 But have looked at the 5-25x56 FFP EBR-7CMOA reticle 34mm tube as well.

Im trying to set any records just be consistent........
This Rifle is more capable than I reaching out that far.

600y is fine. My brother in law got one despite my advice. I’ve had him hitting a steel ram at 750. However, to me, that’s a large target.

Well, you’ll have to find out for yourself on the glass. When the target gets smaller, and starts blending in to the back ground at distance, you’ll notice.

When the mirage starts taking hold, you’ll notice, and like I said, at the upper spectrum of the magnification all those cheaper scopes start to have problem with clarity. It’s not a vortex problem, it’s a cheap glass and design problem. My brother in law just doesn’t care, he’s cheap and just a hunter, shooting it once every 2 years or so.

Clarity has nothing to do with scope tube. Your scope tube size is simply to allow for a bigger erector. Something like a 34mm scope will have more adjustment. A more quality one will have better gear teeth and more accurate tracking of the turrets. There’s something to be said about having a zero stop too.

Your pupil diameter will be more a product of magnification vs objective lens size.

This is why the razor is a more expensive product. It’s better.

As far as technique, shooting to distance isn’t technique per se. I mean more like can you keep the rifle plump with gravity on uneven ground by simply looking with your eye. Then make 5 hits on a milk jug at 1200y with that .308. I’ve been doing this a long time. I can tell you most people can’t, or simply don’t do it well who don’t do this stuff all the time with training. Give the level a second thought.

Rifle cant will most certainly throw your shot per degrees off which defeats the purpose of “precision.” IMO.

    Good luck.

I think they are a great idea for a non-gun store firing range to invest in. I don't think they will get much business at a grocery store, but I have shot up all my ammo at the range many times and would have been happy to buy another box if it had been right on the range.

Little over 4 months (140 days) and got approved on my first 2 Cans! Hopefully picking them up today after work. At least the wait time allowed me to buy and fully build out the Hosts... lol

Thanks! Huxworx Cash 9k and Otter Creek Labs Polonium 30. Was pretty painful watching friends and co-workers get approved in 4 days... lol. Apparently I put in for mine just a few days before the "new system" implementation. Thinking of grabbing a .22 can while I'm there today and see if it goes quicker this time.

 I'll have to check it out when I'm there. It will be primarily for a Ruger 22/45. Either going to do a Volquartsen build or maybe the SiCo shorty. Regardless.. wanting to do a shorty with a nice Can to match diameter and not be too long to keep overall length on the shorter side.

I saw that. I'm not a big fan of the modular cans tbh. (I cancelled my original Omega 36M partially for that reason) Realistically, I wouldn't mess with the configuration.

The Polonium 30 I was already familiar with and have shot both my 300blk JAKL and Sig P556 with it. Great can, glad to finally have my own.. but the Cash 9k is SWEET! serviceable, insanely light, amazing quality.. I cannot wait to shoot my Mini Bog with it. I've ran subs and supers through it with another 9 can and its fantastic with the roller delay and subs.. but this Huxwrx flow through design is gonna be awesome.

and for science... size comparison to @Milota95 TP9 with a B&T can.

Thanks! glad to finally have them "mostly" finished up. The Polo is sweet.. IDK if you've shot it yet.. but its damn quiet on my JAKL.. and even takes the snap out of the .223 pretty well too. Its a tank too.. have seen them take some abuse.. lol

Nice TMP. I got an apc9 which I love. Whats your experience with rifle rated cans? Im really thinking about getting a 5.556 can because of the ubiquity of the round and rifles. Ive shot 300 subs and 9mm sub/super through the same cans and they work great and Im happy with the interchangeability, but Im not sure I want to to get a larger can and then shoot 5.56 through it as well?

TP9 you mean? and hell yeah.. the apc9 is sweet! I was about to pull the trigger on a apc9K before I played with the Stribog S.. I just fell in love with it.

I mostly picked up the Polo 30 for my 300blk, but also wanted to be able to throw on the 5.56. I do like having the 30 cal rifle can, even if its oversized for 5.56. I dont think I would want a dedicated 5.56 can, especially if you have something else that you could use the 30 cal can on (300 blk, etc). It also depends on what you're shooting too.. I was locked in on shorty barrel lengths so that helped make up my mind on what guns needed what.
