That is the third of 3 targets that day. Combination of distances, 15’, 21’ and 30’ on that target, using Glock 17 and 19. Also a few rounds from a Walter PP 7.65. My father-in-law took it from a German officer in WW2 and gave it to us. I just shot it a few times for fun after I had had a gunsmith check it out.

Here’s a couple pics. It’s a Walther PP 7.65 (32 caliber). A little history. My father-in-law brought it back from WW2. Said he took it off a German officer. Don’t know if it was a pow or a kia. He obtained it while he and his outfit the 5th Army was taking Italy and Rome. Based on the serial number the gun was manufactured in Germany in 1941. I don’t believe he ever fired it. After almost 3 years of combat he no longer had much of an interest in guns and seldom talked about the war. The first time it was fired since leaving the battle field in Italy was about a week ago when I took it to the range. Before I took it to the range I had a gunsmith check it out. He’s an expert in older firearms. Broke it down in front of me and it was obvious it was in pristine condition. Said it was issued to German nazi officers in WW2. Showed me a super tiny engraved symbol that shows it’s authentic.
It’s a great shooting gun, accurate. I have one 7 round mag for it. It has a little heft to it which mitigates the light recoil so it’s like no recoil. It would actually make a good carry gun but I ain’t going to do that. I’ll just take it to the range every once in awhile in memory of my father-in-law. I also have the original leather holster.

That is what we call in Texas a Barbecue gun. Only take it to really nice bbq picnics/family gatherings concealed...or unconcealed if your people are cool with it.

I Velcroed a eye drop bottle to a magpul baseplate and put gun oil in it. FYI a Visine eye drop bottle will also work. IMG_6288.jpg IMG_6289.jpg

Received my Utah non-resident concealed carry permit in the mail today. Being a California resident you ask why would I get a Utah ccw? My California ccw is good only in California. California has reciprocity with zero other states. Being ccw in Utah gives me reciprocity with 35+ other states. In addition I spend a couple weeks a year in Utah visiting friends and having a good time. Plus all the states I visit almost yearly like Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona and others I’m good. Also I made sure my ccw insurance covers me in all 50 states. I pray I never have to use it but I feel a lot better knowing I’m legal.
It was simple to obtain. Took a 3 to 4 hour class and submit paperwork. Just thought this info may be useful or helpful to some of you.
