It would be your best bet in getting to 220 gr, yes. Length is the major factor in stability, and a lead slug (flat base flat point) would be the heaviest bullet for any given length. Of course, the tradeoff is aerodynamics. It also takes more gas to push a heavier bullet, which means more noise.

Oh, my inner evil genius is working again. Anyone ever thought of putting a sig arm brace on a TC contender?

    I shot a TC Pro-hunter in 22-250 a couple months back

Holy shit that thing was crazy

I don't know specs on the ammo but they were hand loads, and we had it on a bag...thing almost flew out of my hand with the recoil

I shot this one yesterday, it was the first time I shot it and the first time I've shot a contender in any caliber, and to be honest the hardest hitting handgun I've shot.

I have to say, the recoil is really weird feeling in the 30-30 super 14" barrel. There is very little muzzle flip (as in like 6" max). This one punches straight back into your palm.

I shoot and reload for a .45 colt ruger Blackhawk (7.5" blackhawk). I've loaded some pretty warm loads in it and it has lots of muzzle flip compared to the tc.

I'm seriously debating registering the reciever as an SBR

I searched online and it's apparently somewhat easy to remove the mag safety. I have a CA Shield 40.

With that said, for my Shield 40, Trijicons, Meprolights, or Ameriglos, folks?

Just looking for personal opinions, as I've already searched the web and read up on them. :)

Personally I have Trijicon sights on my Shield and I'm quite happy with it.

Most, if not all of those have trijicon tubes.

Determine what style you want (3 dot, 2 dot, or 1 dot/trij HD style) and go from there.

What colors do you have? Green/green or orange/green? Could you post a pic, please?

I'm still feeling the 3-dot. 1 dot is extremely interesting to me, but I've never shot with those sights before so I don't exactly want to spend money to find I don't like them. Then again, I could love 'em. lol
I heard the Trijicons are more "clear", and the lower profile is something I'd like. You have some night-sights?

I use 1 dot. 3 dots is too busy for me. I want 1 thing to focus on

Orange/Green. I prefer having two colors so the front sight stands out better.

Hmmm.... Noted. Ameriglos for both of you? I'm working in dimly lit areas with many different types of street lights if they have them at all.

Awesome!! Thanks for the pic! Yeah, multi-color is what I'm leaning towards. You put them on yourself or use a gunsmith?

Since you're already planning on getting new sights, take a sharpie to the rear sight essentially making it a 1 dot and see how you like it

I replaced the sites myself. I picked up a universal sight pusher which helped to get the job done quickly and without too much hassle.

    ^Which one is that?

I want to get a universal pusher, but I have a Glock, S&W Shield, and a FN FNS-9 which are all different slide "shapes" so I need something that is adaptable to all of em.
