Agree, but not many other avenues for private sale around here

Would like to sell separate, but ultimately I don't wanna end up stuck with a scope...and I don't have the original rear sights

I'm not in a hurry to sell, but want to make sure I'm at least being reasonable when I refuse to trade what I see as a $1000 gun on a $600 rifle that may or may not have been abused prior to me owning it

Lots of gun forums out there and most have free classified sections. That's what I do.

Also, ignore low ballers because you'll get tons. I don't even reply. They likely don't even know what you're selling but think they can trade up, sell it and make a profit. These people exist in every segment. When I get people asking me if I will trade with them I tell them I prefer cash and their trade offer has to be enough over my cash price to make it worth my time. Most don't reply. It amazes me how many people think that they can trade you their junk for LESS than your cash asking price. Fuck no! If you want to trade me you better make it an offer I can't refuse because I'd rather just sit on my cash price and wait for a cash buyer of my known item than get your unknown junk. I think lots of people are hoping to prey on desperate people too and I'm sure there out there even if it's a low percentage. I wouldn't think that the percentage of desperate people in this segment where you pretty much burn money would be worth their time but obviously someone had success at one time or they wouldn't keep trying.

I've got it posted on a couple forums here and there too but with even less interest

I realize it's an odd gun that will be a hard sale, which is why I'm entertaining trades, but like you...usually I just ignore them because theyre so out of the ballpark, theyre not even playing the same game.

The Sig Scorpion interested me and then this guy tonite emailed me with a couple of junk rifles, the rem700, PSA ar and some crappy romy ak in 5.56

My reply was for pics and then after his shitty pics, my only other reply was "are we talking multiple rifles for my revolver?"

    I don't expect a very kind reply

I'll probably end up eventually ponying up money for the rear sight and splitting them...I just kind of dread getting stuck with the scope and it taking up space for years to come...

It always makes me laugh (on any for sale item) when people ask me what the lowest is that I will take for something priced at $$$. guess they don't understand the concept of make an offer and if I like it I'll agree, otherwise, I want what I listed it at.

If that's the case then you need to be prepared to either sit on it for a while, take less than you want or possibly even both. I get you don't want to part but there's no magic solution to get everything you want in this solution unfortunately.

I'm fully prepared to wait it out and probably take less...I guess I just get tired of the same old crap being offered...I was actually really disappointed the Sig guy backed out...

+100. A suppressor should not effect the velocity at all. If it does you need to talk to the manufacturer. Also, don't buy into the old school belief that a .30 caliber suppressor won't be effective on a sub-caliber, i.e. - 7mm, 6.5mm or even 6mm. My .243 has the most noise reduction of all my rifles when shooting through my .30 caliber suppressor.

Suppressors do affect velocity, but it's not worth arguing technical details when it's nothing you'd ever notice in a shooting scenario. I understand why some people say they don't. Without a chronograph and a large set of data points, you would never really notice.

No, they don't. In all my years of practical long range competitive shooting I've never seen anything consistent and substantial registered on numerous Oehler 35P chronographs in wildly varying conditions. I should add that I shoot regularly with Shane, Zak & Ray dog of Thunder Beast Arms. I've helped test numerous suppressors on various rifle & barrel configurations with countless rounds of both factory ammo & loads I worked up. I'm not parroting something I heard... I'm talking about years of data tracking that would make most people cross-eyed. If you've got data points that contradict my first-hand experience & testing... by all means... share it. Until someone can produce something to the contrary better than 'nuh uh' I stand behind my findings & experience.

I definitely believe you when you say you havent observed it. Sounds like you're shooting a lot of rifle cans. I would imagine a rifle would have the least tendency to exhibit faster speeds. A relatively short barreled pistol shooting a flat base bullet out of a long can with tight baffles would show the most increase. It's just physics - higher pressures & higher temps inside the can will affect bullet speed. I'm surprised Thunderbeast doesn't agree. Silencerco definitely does. But I'm not super interested in an extended argument about physics so feel free to have the last word.

I hate selling guns online. I had my 1911 for sale and people would offer glocks with a "modified trigger" (3.5 connector and polished ) thinking it's the same value as 700... Actually for some odd reason here (so. Cal) everyone thinks glocks are worth a lot. Same with low end rifles. A guy at Walmart offered me his m&p15 sport with a rail and sight mark rds for 1000, he was naming off things like he was a bad ass. I told him he's dreaming and all that won't equal the value of my upper, home boy got all butt hurt.

    #end of rant
