It is. You can convert it to a 9mm or a .40S&W but not a .45ACP. So just buy a Glock in 9mm or .40 and be done with it.

This is the best I could get of the lack of bluing.

There are two boogered up screws (rear band and one of the front sight screws.) If I could get those loose I'd just disassemble it myself and take all the metal bits to be cerakoted.

I'll be honest, I'd just use it like that and not bother refinishing, it has a lot of character. And just becaus I like to guess, is the scope an older weaver ?

I agree, oil it before and after use and it will be fine. Sometimes refinishing actually decreases value and potential collect-ability.

In pistol shooting, what is your stance? Isosceles? Weaver? Modified Weaver?

Not talking competition shooting, more of what you train for at the range to practice HD.

Personally, I have been using the Isosceles stance. I feel it gives me for maneuverability.

Personally I've tried most, I shoot wherever I feel lost comfortable, which is generally a mixture of stances that gives me good stability and control and accuracy (I can hit a torso sized target at 125 yards with my 1911 about 50% of the time . I teach basic pistol and I teach isosceles, but when I teach friends, as they shoot a lot with me, We work to modify their stance to work best for them, or at least that is what I have found works for me. If you are a new shooter, use on lr of the three and after you shoot for a while you will usually drift to a point you are comfortable, or at least that is what I did. I ended up somewhere between isosceles and weaver stance

Just curious, in your grip, do you find yourself using more of a push/pull grip used in weaver or more of a squeezing grip used in isoscles?

When you guys aim your hand gun using normal sights, do you use both eyes or your dominant eye? I think I remember a while back a debate on using both vs one. I went shooting last week and tried aiming with both eyes open and couldn't hit shit, lol.

I can't shoot pistols both eyes open, I use my dominant (right) eye.

That's what I do as well. Even with my AR and every other gun and rifle shoot, scoped or not.
