That is bordering on extreme long range for a .22. Try shooting it 200 first. A lot of people equate that to about a 1000 yard shot with a 308, so you can probably imagine what 300 will be like.

As for optics, it depends on how "precise" you want to be. In the case of the 22, you aren't going to be very precise out past 50 yards. Maybe minute of beer can on a good day. I'm thinking a 10x max scope will be perfect. 10x is more than adequate for making 1000 yard hits with bigger rifles.

 

Thanks guys. I was hitting my target at 200 with it on sights the other day. Not very consistent. But quite consistent with my dads 10/22 with a 3-9 optic. Thanks everyone.

 

Whattheph0 got me 2 chip mccormick 10 round mags for Christmas and they work flawlessly in my Para

 

I've got four 9mm Chip McCormick magazines for my STI Spartan V and they work perfectly in it.

 

I've heard nothing but good things about them. Idk why mine doesn't seem to like them.

 

I've been lucky with my $13 springfield (Promag) 10 round 1911 mags with the plastic followers. No malfunctions yet.

 

With my SR1911 I've been using Checkmate seconds and they've been flawless. They were cheap too.

I got a savage 10TR yesterday. Got a rad price on it. Can't wait to go shoot stuff with it. Vortex 6-24, ATRS muzzle break, Harris bipod. Chambered in 308. Came with 60 rnds. Too bad it's damn cold!

Yep, loaded many mags yesterday morning to get out of the house. Powered through just under 500 rounds and started to reload the empties...I stopped when I realized just how bad my fingers were bleeding from stuffing em in 10° below wind.
Not letting up, I'm considering setting up a tent with a propane heater inside for shooting out until spring.
