I would build it out of wood so I shouldn't have that issue.
I also don't have a gun with a "match grade barrel" unless you count my ARP 6.8 SPC barrel.

Didn't even think about the length, thanks for mentioning that.
I'll be using wood so I can use a soft wood for that particular piece.

    Silver or Bronze E?

Im fairly sure my best marksmanship occurred between the ages of 9-11 with a Daisy pump. This is why I prefer large magazines.

    Hey Gang!
Going to buy a SS P938. I've already chatted with Beavis0076 a bit. THANK YOU!!

I'm having a hard time picking what I want to get. I'm liking the Nightmare with the all black w/ stainless safety & slide lock. How does the Nitron coating last with repeated wear in/out of a holster? The stainless is growing on me also...like the SAS. LOL Ultimately, I want it to wear well.

Any of you guys convert the ambi safety to a single? I've read the ambi can get disengaged simply by holstering it. Anyone experience that?

Anyone have the anti-snag? Is that a benefit?

The more I look at them.....I think the SAS is really growing on me. Just don't ask me again tomorrow - I'll probably change my mind!!! LOL

    SAS w/ antisnag

Nightmare (I'd have to get wood grips similar to the SAS)

The SAS in theory is nice, but there are millions of people that carry squared off striker fire pistols that I don't really see the chamfering done to the slide as a major benefit. If you like the rounded off look, you could always get a SAS and cerakote the slide black.

Or get the Nightmare and a set of VZ Cherry G10 grips

I bought two new Nightmare's a couple months ago and ended up giving one to my daughter. I am pleased with the purchase and have only had the opportunity to shoot a couple mags through but, my initial experience was def positive out of the box. Having a few compacts, I was enticed by it's similarities with a 1911.
Although I have not holstered the gun enough to have or foresee any issues the finish is fantastic and I doubt there will be any issues.
It cycled smooth and the recoil was as expected for a small frame 9mm.
Don't expect to punch the ass end out of a beer bottle through it's mouth with it but, for solid ccw/defense gun I would recommend it.

I actually like the 'lighter' wood grips on the SAS. I'm not concerned so much (now) with the anti-snag. The SAS is the only one that has it and the only one with lighter wood grips! LOL

    Thanks Gang!!

A friend of ours just started a new Cerakote business - I sent him information to see what kind of prices he can get me (he has contacts). It's a toss up....I like the Nightmare but I would need/want to get light wood grips for it. To save $60 in grips, I'd probably just go with the SAS.

Since this is a friend of ours....so I'll mention it: If you're looking for Cerakoting - "Scorpian High Performance Coatings" - they have facebook page.

For the Daisy BB Gun fans, although they never made a Red Ryder with a "compass in the stock and that thing which tells time" - it was specially produced for the movie A Christmas Story - they did make a pump model from 1936-42 with those features. The Buck Jones Model 107. I picked this one up a few weeks ago.

I've got a P238 Blackwood (SS slide, slide lock, and safety switch - black anodized frame). It kinda looks like the SAS - but no melt job - and black/dark brown wood grips instead of the light brown on the SAS. I have had it for about 18 months and I carry it often in a Remora sticky holster. I don't holster/un-holster it a lot - but I have not noticed any holster wear on either the SS slide or on the black anodized frame. It does fit nice and tight in the Remora holster - I keep the thing in the holster all the time - so the holster has completely conformed to the shape of the pistol. The pistol does not move at all inside the holster when I am walking around - which probably helps prevent holster wear a lot.
