I have found another project that I want to make, may be a while, but it is now a gun that is high on my list, it is a remington 1100 that has been cerakoted burnt bronze, and the wood refinished

    check it out

    mhu3uv_0fa023dc9d0d5cfe8b9967cd7e88752ee731b8f7.jpg

this one is not mine, I will have to get one and build on it to get it looking like this, I might make the wood a bit darker, but I don't know for sure

you mean the easy loader on bottom or the over size bolt knob?

I don't like the over size bolt knob and will probably get something different, but the speed loader I like, though I will probably shorten it some (maybe)

I don't know a lot on the function of the 1100, but I can easily figure it out, I know it is a gas gun though. I am used to my berettas (AL391 which I love and an A301)

I'll probably chase one this summer when I get done with school, maybe try to trade my hobby grade RC, got to find one that is good mechanical condition that is rough visually, so basically one that has been carried much and shot little

I would rather the 1100 as I probably won't ever shoot 3 inch, I am wanting a range toy, Home defense will get put to my Ithaca M37 (that slam fires, and feeds mini shells reliably), the 1187 is on my list though, I just need to be able to find the wood stocks for it

I will post before and after shots on my projects that I have currently going, including ones that I haven't got ahold of yet

My current projects are an arisaka in 7.7 jap that is missing the firing pin, spring, and back plate (paid 15 bucks for it), and a single shot .22 that is missing the bolt (have it sourced) and needs refinishing,

here are a couple pics of the .22

It is most definately a child's rifle, I can shoot it like a pistol (haven't shot it yet)

Great project platform for sure! I have a Winchester 67 I've restored. A lot of what I did was a first-time-through thing, so it's not a professional job, but I learned a lot. Let's see, I...

    1. Stripped the stock
    2. Reshaped the toeline
    3. Shortened the forend
    4. Rounded the forend
    5. Installed a buttpad
    6. Cut in flutes
    7. Installed a pistol grip
    8. Sanded/sealed/finished AND CHECKERED the stock (the checkering is the hardest part)
    9. Shortened the barrel
    10. Cut a new front sight dovetail
    11. Filed a new elevator by hand
    12. Chromed the trigger guard
    13. Gold plated the trigger
    14. Jeweled the bolt
    15. Polished all the metal and cold blued it
I think that's it. Well over 200 hours in it, about 1/3 of that in the checkering alone.

I'm gonna be stripping the stock, I thought about checkering the stock, but I'm thinking against it. If I had the tools already, I would do it, but I can't really afford to get a set of tools just yet, I can always go back and do that later. I just ordered the bolt tonight. I managed to locate the correct type and all I believe. I plan on stripping it and then finish it with either cerakote or duracoat.

The gun itself looks like it should function once I get the bolt. I will be shooting it the first chance I get after I get the bolt in. I looks to me (and the guys on rimfire central) that the stock was cut down, if the barrel was cut down, someone did a really good job. It comes in about the size of a cricket rifle. I trade the equivalent of 40 for it, for a project for me to learn on. I've decided that it will stay with me for if I ever have kids. I figured this has a bit more class than a cricket rifle

I have access to a bead blaster at work this summer, so I am getting what I can done at school the working on it when I get home for the summer, same with my arisaka

I don't know what I am gonna do for the trigger guard, trigger, and bolt refinishing though, I think I'm match the trigger guard to the barrel and chrome or nickel plate the bolt and triger (or just polish them)

anyways, you got pictures of the one you restored?

Just snapped these. Not what I would call even semi-professional work but it does exhibit all the stuff you can do to a single shot 22! I specifically refuse to ever upgrade or redo anything on the gun - it was my first major project and it is what it is.

Looked just like this one when I started.

that looks great man, I'm chasing something close to that, though without the checkering (because of my grooved stock), and I will probably go with something other than a gloss finish. but you basically did a lot of what I was wanting to do, I would like to figure out a peep sight for it though, any ideas?

Sad day, sooner or later I'm gonna pick up a .357 or .44 mag ruger revolver, I just got to pick between the super Blackhawk and the sp101.

Anyways, the reason I came into the thread was to bring up by far the craziest and probably dumbest (and probably a lot of fun) idea that I have came up with in a long time, I want to see if anyone else thinks the same (about the dumb/dangerous) idea. I've got a knack for coming up with stupid and probably dangerous ideas lol

Anyways, does anyone think it would be possible to make a solenoid based firing mechanism for a .22, install a paintball gun like rocking trigger with a low enough pull that you could walk the trigger like a paintball gun (look up trigger walking a paintballs gun on YouTube if you want to know what im talking about)

You could put a serious amount of lead down range very quickly, unfortunately this would only be plausible with smaller rounds, though I'd say a 9mm might work

    So what y'all think?
