I believe that you have to be 21 to get the tax stamps for suppressors sbs, and, etc...

If you didn't I'd have one by now lol

To buy, yes, to build, no.
I emailed a guy at the ATF and he said that i only have to be 18 to build a suppressor, i'll dig up the email in a bit.

    Interesting, that's a loop hole I didn't see lol

I've only got a few more months so I will just wait.....does that include short barrel guns for building?

After getting my ak. I actually like the ak platform. Only draw back is the sights. The mag release I find is easier on the ak. My index finger has to reach a bit to get to the ar mag release. I'm used to using a dump pouch so I can grab the mag out of the and reload with 1 hand. Or you can be super operator and flick the mag out with another mag.

Field stripping and cleaning is a bit time consuming in the ar. For the ak, what's cleaning?

In a home defense situation, I'd rather have the stock. I can snapshoot from my bathroom doorway, down the hallway. I dont have to whip out and around to do it either. Its small enough to run in confined areas, i can get on target extremely fast, and obliterate it with authority.

Of course it folds. a 7.62x39 krinkov is the best compliment of AK and Size. Its small enough to do its job effectively, loses very little muzzle velocity, and folds small enough to fit in a tennis racket bag.

I'm not done with it yet. Still have to wrap the stock with paracord, install a cheekrest, machine a Ultimak rail to fit, add a flashlight on a Vltor mount, install a Microdot, and throw a Galil handguard on it.

Its by far my favorite weapons platform, and the VTAC sling is friggin wonderful.

You tax stamped an SBS to cut off 2"?

ETA - almost positive that's not a 16" barrel in the photo, it appears to be a 14" SBS. 14" 870s hold 4 in the tube and 1 in the chamber. Still bad ass.
