Yeah, I've never run it in 6.8 (in in any of the AR chamberings, actually). I've ended up with classic cartridges for when I'm out after deer: 30-30, .32spl, & .35 Remington in my lever guns, and my bolt guns are 30-06 and 7mm Rem Mag. Not a deliberate decision on my part, just kind of happened that way. :notsure:

A little off topic but I'm curious. You guys (and gals) that daily carry, do you keep a round chambered..? Why (seems somewhat obvious I know) or why not?

Yes, I keep one chambered on my carry piece. My carry piece is single/double action with trigger and hammer block safeties. Once the hammer block safety is set, the hammer can't fall until it's been completely drawn back and the trigger safety released. I cock the hammer with the right while bringing the left hand up into stance, and drop the trigger safety as both thumbs come together in grip. The gun isn't in battery until I have both hands on it.

    Vehicle piece is a revolver.

Always chambered in the holster. If I'm in a less safe mode, not so much.

Make sure to have a good holster system, and practice draw/holster procedures. Remember, no negligent discharges.

If you're going to pocket carry or stuff it in your waistband, condition three please. Our just make sure you're the only one who will get hurt.

Glock 19 always chambered. The extra second or two that it takes to chamber a round can be the second that matters the most. Plus under stressful conditions you lose your fine motor skills, and if you don't train to rack your slide every time you pull your gun you might forget when the stress hits.

yeah, it's a 9mm so it's fine with such short length. Sadly I haven't even tested this thing out. Haven't had a chance, it just sits around the house hanging out. We planned on going out Saturday but Friday night we got so much rain in Dallas the land was all too wet and soupy to get out. I'm not a fan of ranges so I try to stay away unless there is a nice outdoor range, and one was flooded! I'm about to break down and give in and hit up the local range.

Because if you respect the tool for what it is and keep yer boogerhook off the bang switch till the sights are on target you are good to go.
Once you stop respectin' chaos is usually not far behind.
