As mags go they are nice. Just the finish is the only thing that's not perfect. Other than that they look pretty much unused.

HAHAHA. No, not wrong. It's cool. I'm a bigger guy, so the bulkiness doesn't bother me. I have a Kimber CDP II Pro, so its a 4", and has the acid melt edges specifically for carrying. Aluminum frame to save weight.

The reason I asked, is because, I found this Shok Block on Wilson Combat's website, and didn't know if anyone had any experience using them. My 1911 is "bushing-less" so, I didn't know if they shok block was best used with a 1911 that had bushings or if it even mattered. Also, I wanted some feedback about the shok block itself.

The shok block is simply a poly buffer slid over the guide rod to reduce inertia and slam from the slide....pull the spring, slide on the shok block, reinstall spring, and you're done.

Sell those polys. Theres only room for real guns.

It wouldn't be the Steelers if they didnt play below their opponent then have to work their way to a win lol.

Hey, I'm simply looking for thoughts a feedback. I suppose you COULD do that, however you'd have to cut it to fit over the guide rod...

No, I'm not using special loads....I wouldn't think that you'd HAVE to be using special loads for there to be a benefit....

Like I said, just looking for feedback....Also, thought that maybe the spring would need to be changed, as it would add some pressure, not much mind you, but it is kind of a spacer...so...

    Yeah...spacer lift...lol.

So I cleaned the gun this past weekend, and noticed that the slide moves much smoother now, but I only used VERY little oil. Is there a different lube to use that will make it feel even more buttery?

I know in recoil buffers in AKs are basically snake oil.

I'm guessing it's the same here. The guns been around for over 100 years. Recoil buffers have been around since at least the 60s, probably earlier. If they needed recoil buffers, the big companies who make them would be including them in the guns.

If his gun functions fine now, and it's his carry gun, the last thing I'd recommend is to throw a piece of plastic in there that changes how the slide travels.

    Thats me though.

It might save the frame a little bit, but realistically he doesn't live in CA so if his frame goes to shit he can walk into a gun store and walk out with a new 1911 he probably wanted to buy anyway that day.

I'm not arguing or disagreeing, simply saying the philosophy that "if it was better with it it would come that way from the factory" is a fallacy.

Yea, I get what you're saying. If it was truly needed, I'm sure Springfield or Kimber would throw in a recoil buffer and advertise the fact that it's included in their guns and not others. That's all I'm getting at. But the fact that isn't not even offered as an option says something about them.

The things are $1.50/pc, it's not like they aren't including them because of cost.

It functions fine, and has for the last 10 years.

I used Rem Oil this time, as it was all I had...

I didn't know if there was a "dry lube" that worked as well or better....

    I do..Sometimes a Kimber TLE,Colt or even my Sig Scorpion 1911's

I'm 6'4 265 lbs and no issues carrying it...Va is a open carry state so if it shows some its no big deal but I do try to keep it covered at all times.

Has anyone in here done the trigger upgrade on a Ruger LC9 or LC380 using the Galloway Precision kit? I installed it all correctly (at least I think I did) but the hammer won't drop when it is supposed to. Wondering if anyone else has run into a similar issue.

Not enough or to much over travel?

I had an issue like this with my ZEV tech trigger bar where it had to be filed very little to fit.....

Yes, I have been on there. I have also talked with a gun smith from the company. They recommended I bend a small tab on the trigger bar. I also know you can ground down the tab to be a little shorter.
I was curious what experiences people have had in here.
