No...I don't like looking like a cop when I'm off duty so I steer clear of this type of gear

I have a Vertx backpack that has velcro on the inside and I can line the 3 pockets with mags for days if I want...or holsters or whatever other stuff I feel like I want to carry but it looks like your average backpack

Same as an AR receiver going either rifle or pistol?

They probably only sell them to a select few companies to do this type of thing...I don't recall seeing Mossberg markings on it though

Set up a duty belt with mag carriers and radio pocket, unless you have a desire to cart around plates if you're really worried about your safety

I assume it started life as a Mossberg Persuader, which comes from the factory with a pistol grip and not a buttstock. It's the same loophole that some use to make a ~16" barrel pistol grip shotgun because some pistol grips are more in-line with the barrel and push the OAL over 26".

Nah, they buy stripped receivers from mossberg to make them and make everything on them from the base up. The gun was designed around the current existing laws

Interesting. Well, good for them! I didn't realize you could source stripped receivers. You could legally do the same with a persuader, I suppose. As with any gun using a pistol brace, you'd be shouldering it at your own risk.

Yep, don't know how they managed to get mossberg to sell them to them, but it wouldn't make sense to buy complete guns honestly

Considering a Black Aces is like $1400, they're probably paying Mossberg a pretty penny

Is there a particular shop you've done business with before that's cool? Send it over there and give them a few days heads up on the arrival so they'll know it's coming.

Two local shops told me last month that transfer fees were going to increase. It was coming from the feds and filtering down as per oBama.

Bullshit!... I've been a FFL holder and licensed manufacturer for 10+ years. The BATFE does not regulate/mandate transfer fees. Transfer fees are fees that the FFL implement as a service fee for doing the 4473 and BG checks and to take on the additional paperwork of accepting an item into their books and then dispositioning it out to the buyer. Time is money...

What he said, I worked in a shop when I was still in school (and still help them from time to time). All transfer fees are done by the FFL. The only extra fee we have is a $2 background check (or $5 if you're out of state license) and that is from the state not federal at all

This is Virginia, you fill out 2 forms to buy a gun, state and federal

Good deal then. These geezers have done me fair the last couple of years and were telling me this after they recently went to a gun/knife show. That was the rumor at the show anyway.

I think its very common for FFLs to charge a little something for a xfer fee, I wouldn't pay anymore than $25. the FFL does carry some liability because they have to manage the paperwork and most FFLs get audited at least every 18 months. Having gone through many audits myself, the #1 thing FFLs get nailed on is paperwork.

I understand that. I had one that was a friend of my dad's only charge me $10, but he's closed up shop finally. There was one my FiL would frequent that'd do mine for $15 because of the relation, but he's closed too. He'd move buildings every 4 years...
