I was looking into getting a new scope for my hunting rifle. Is this too much scope ? I have a browning 270 wsm. The thing is that I can get a really good deal on it .

just in case you missed it, the scope is specifically doped out for a 308 round.

How far out are you looking to reach/how bad are your eyes? 20 power is pretty magnified

I like Nikon scopes, great products (I have a pro staff on my Marlin 30-30 and a pro staff rim fire on my Marlin 22) but I want a mil scope, and I don't know much about the higher end of the Nikon scopes, it seems a lot of people go for vortex or leupold when they get to my price range.

Granted I still have a lot of research to do before I try to narrow down brands.

For $600, I'd be looking at leupold. Depending on what you plan on doing with the rifle, 300 yards doesn't require a lot of magnification. Almost all my hunting rifles have 2.5-8X and that works fine inside 500 yards. You're much better off getting less magnification and better glass for the same money.

Never heard of it, but I'm sure you don't get much from them. Kinda like selling your guns to Cabelas. Listing them on armslist is one of the easier ways to sell them. If they are more of a small niche type gun, gunbroker works well. I've sold quite a few through both without any problems.

I've never heard of it either, and I consider myself pretty deep in the gun world.
I would look at listing them on armslist.com

I wouldn't say that I'm deep in the gun world, still have a lot to learn. I've also never heard of it. I'm not a genius, but when has any entity with "CASH" in its name ever offered a reasonable price?
