Hard to say not knowing anything about her. My daughter started shooting at 4, so by 10 she was shooting a .223 and 22 hornet quite a bit. My kids liked shooting my Marlin 1894CL in 32-20 the most of all my lever actions. If she does not have access to a good 22lr, that would be first. The problem with most lever actions is they really don't have a great stock design for comfort and the triggers are usually poor unless you look at the Savage 99s or Browning BLRs. The Ruger lever actions might have a better trigger but I've never shot one of them. Maybe one of the 92 clones in 38/357.

Actually, I want to add to that 22 rimfire suggestion. I started off a nine-year-old girl on a 17 HMR rifle, and it absolutely stunned her that she could hit something so easy at 200 yards. It has definitely brought her into the sport of shooting. Winning is always a big confidence booster when you're starting out in something .

Really everyone's first leveraction should be a red rider, i started on that right at 3yo and got ammo for it about 6 months later. The i progressed to an old youth single shot 2 ga when i turned 6. Shot many a doves and squirrels with it (well many for a 6 yo with a single shot) for 3 years then got a pump 20 ga. I deer hunted a few times with some borrowed rifles (mostly 30-30s) and the christmas after i turned 10 i got a ruger m77 markII.243 which i hunted with until the first year i was married and it was stolen. Needless to say by the time i was 10, moderate recoil (especially in deer hunting clothes) was not an issue for me.

And I finally found time to install the Nikon scope and mounts on my 6.8 upper, once I get it sighted in and confirm the iron sights on the 30-30 (the gun the Nikon came off of) I'll have 3 rifles for deer season.

    Mossberg MMR 30-30.

Kind of badass, in a weird way. I always thought it seemed like Mossberg created that model as a tongue-in-cheek take on the black rifle craze, and didn't know how to react when people actually started buying them.

The thing is it's not tacticool, it's more of an ugly duck maybe the closet ninjas will like it. Guess this goes with the old sayin "even ugly chicks should go to the dance too"

It's ugly but imagine it suppressed with NV, run 190 or 230 Gr hand loads and it would be an epically quiet gun that hits hard and isn't effected by crazy restrictions because it's not semi auto or detachable mag fed.

Suppressed with subsonic rounds would be quiet.

I'm not sure $350 would be enough of a payment for me to take that thing.

New grips today. Wish I could justify a real set, but even fake ivory really sets off a stainless gun.
