This is the bottom line to the main discussion between the differences between the 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Yes, there are people out there that have made custom rounds and custom applications to make the 308 perform better than average, and yes, that horse has been beaten to death on this argument, But at the end of the day, off-the-shelf, the 308 just cannot hang with the ballistic capabilities of the rounds that are out there today. Technology has just advanced too far beyond the original design of the 308. Dare I say, calling it grandpa's round.:argue:

    Exactly,
hence the reason why there wasn't a simple answer to that gentleman's question

I'm the opposite, lol. Every time I take a gun out and shoot it she gets a scrubdown.

With a match rifle it will typically take at least 20 or more rounds to get the barrel shooting tight once it's shooting I don't mess with it unless it starts going sideways. Ifen it goes back sideways right away after cleaning it's shot out and time to replace it.

    Hunting rifle, yes
If it's going to be sitting in the safe for any length of time you should clean the fouled powder out of it and a very light coat of gun oil doesn't hurt either.
I would not be concerned with scrubbing the whatnot outa the bore. Modern powder and primers are no where near as corrosive as they once were with the salts that were used.

Smart choice. Over cleaning kills accuracy and barrel life. Completely unnecessary to do it after shooting every time.

The trigger is really the star of the show on that platform, but as you look at one-mile shooting rifles, that actually a stunningly low priced,

    Definitely comparable,argumentatively,
Possibly better if there is a such thing. It is essentially an 8 ounce trigger, once your skin tissue touches it, it's already gone off. It is a surprise every time the trigger launch is as it should be, but it is a two stage, so there is a safety involved.

What have you been up to bud? You see what I've been up to, minus a little incident I had about a month ago with my left hand

Thank you, I have a single stage Tiffany trigger on my LMT A.R. 15 and it was definitely an improvement over an already better than normal trigger, definitely a night and day difference between a run-of-the-mill AR and adding that trigger

A good trigger is a must on any gun in order to shoot accurately, handguns and rifles alike.

I am learning some new things here. Do you guys think the 7.62 will perform the same as the .308 vs a 6.5 ??

I am not in the same league as you guys on ballistics. Had a old Sako 22-250 and loaded it fairly hot on a OEM bull barrel ... and shot a M14 aka 7.62 in the military.

Just curious on the 7.62 ... thanks ...
