That sucks. Any way of tapping them out from the other side? If you can't do that, there's probably no getting them out short of drilling them VERY carefully, lol.

Given my lack of tools to do so... Not likely.

Ya see.. what had happened wus..

A co-worker caught wind of my minuscule smithing efforts, I was picking and choosing what I worked on to gain better knowledge. I have a bad habit of taking things apart and rebuilding them to understand them. I'd say ask my poor father what he put up with, but he's not of this earth anymore. So co worker tells me he's got some back woods Tennessee .22 that he wants me to take a look at, see if I can clean it up, and possibly get it to shoot again. Upon delivery and some very basicly cleaning, it is in fact a Remington 34, only ran from 1930 to 1940's give or take.

I got to work cleaning it up, and realized there was some minor pitting and rust that needed to be taken care of before turning it back over.

Excluding the fantastic discovery when I started re-doing the original stock, that leaves us here.

And me ill prepared to pose the question with out said photographs. Chalk that up to being bored at work and avoiding perfect studying time opportunity.

I've got all the basic cleaning things, pics and everything I need to work on my own pew pews, but do not have a complete set of punches..

Well rebluing it without completely disassembling it shouldn't affect function, as long as the pins aren't holding any moving parts in place. But it might look kind of odd since there probably won't be a crisp line where the parts meet up.
But, short of getting a complete set of punches, drilling the mushroomed part of the pin, and driving the pin out, you can't really disassemble it any further so it seems like you don't have much choice if you want to reblue it, lol.

It should be noted that I'm not an expert; I've only ever reblued one gun, and I was able to completely disassemble it to do it. :notsure:

Ok. I'll try to log on again this weekend sometime: I don't usually touch a computer on the weekends but I'm stuck working a Saturday shift, lol. I get out at 1, though, so neener neener. :p

Getting pictures on here gets attention, too, so somebody with more gunsmithing experience may chime in and give you some pointers I haven't thought of. I'd recommend posing with the gun while wearing some revealing clothing to really boost interest in your post, but I doubt it'll increase the number of helpful answers, lol.

It's annoying me that her camera and the table aren't square. What's the deal? You vote on parts and she orders and builds based on that?

Hm. :pccoffee: I've been doing this wrong all along.

Nice videos, but if you haven't seen the one from Noveske, you're missing out. Warning, this is NSFW.

Probably against site rules to post the link to this one, so go to youtube and search for Sheri from Noveske Rifleworks speaks about shotshow 2013

Ok, now before you flame me, remember - this is my first pistol. First Glock. First everything.

This barrel came with my G23 from FIL. It was in a bag labeled 23 .40 S&W.

I don't think this is correct. I think it's for a G27. It's double ported and one of the ports isn't exposed. It's about 4.25" long.

    I haven't shot with it, and won't.

I'm also not convinced it's a .40. 2nd picture is .357, .40, then the unknown. There are no markings anywhere to indicate anything.

Thoughts/ comments? Am I correct that this is definitely not for a G23?
