It had nothing to do with legality and more about morality.

OK. I don't see it any more of a moral issue for me to sell a gun legally than I do for an FFL to legally sell a gun to you. The argument could be made for any product, not just a gun. Are you morally responsible for selling a used car that ends up being used in a crime or drunk driving incident? Is the dealership? I'll drop it, I just find it an odd stance from a gun owner.

I was questioning the selling of firearms into the hands of unknown individuals. Comprende Kimosabe?

Well, that does describe most guns sales, doesn't it? If it's legal, it's legal, isn't it? Should stores only sell to people they personally know? If you don't want to sell a gun, fine, don't sell. I don't think it's OK though to question someone's morality if they do though. It is perfectly legal and is nothing new. The idea the government needs to vet gun owners on the other hand is. Sadly, more and more gun owners willingly give up their rights. Many have become conditioned to think limits and waiting periods are just and fair.

There's no morality class that uneducated people take before purchasing firearms either. We used to have hunter's safety back in the day(in public school, mandatory), and it was good, if nothing else, to familiarize kids with how to check for loaded/unloaded firearm. There were some basic safety quizzes or tests before you could go into the firing range, or some kids could opt out, if I remember. We don't have any stringent laws about firearms transfer here, like other parts of the country, but I know in some areas, it's definitely a problem. They are stolen a lot too, mostly from irresponsible gun owners who don't keep their stuff locked up, or where it's easy for kids or burglars to find them etc.

If I can keep one possibly questionable person from obtaining a firearm, then I wouldn't even consider selling or trading one. You never know what anybody will do and in the end, you can't trust anyone 100%, so why open the door to a possible situation. You were in the Army, you should know that if people were 100% trustable 100% of the time, then there wouldn't be any domestic violence or killings or terrorism, etc. It's the world we live in and I just wouldn't advocate or condone taking the chance. That's me. I was never talking about transferring firearms from a legal standpoint or through a dealer, and I know that just because there is a gun thread on a Tacoma website, where a lot of us have common interests, doesn't mean that everyone in that thread is a responsible gun owner either. Nice thought, but it's just not the case.

This still exists and is mandatory before you can get your deer tags or hunting license. It's a bit more in depth than it used to be, but it's still around. I took my son down to city hall to show him where I took the class at age 14, and how he will have to do the same. On our walk home we talked about the basic rules of handling a gun. Since age 2 he's watched me open and clean my guns while I explain what each part does and how the whole machine works, so he knows why he shouldn't touch them. They remain locked in a cabinet with keys and ammo hidden.

I'm toeing a real fine line here, so I'll word my query as best I can...

Do you think recent *transitions* in federal government will equate to the price on ammo and firearms dropping slightly or at all? A simple "Yes/No" answer will suffice. If you want to elaborate, just PM me.
I ask because I'm on the verge of buying an MP15 but wonder if I should wait and see if street price will drop at all.

I should've mentioned, it was mandatory in my day. Yes, you still have to have a Hunter's Safety course before you can get your card or hunt anything except for varmints or coyotes which do not require a license in this state.

No... Not any time soon anyway... Ever notice how long it takes for gas prices to go down, but they go up drastically in a short period of time? Mho prices on certain commodities are the exceptio to "what goes up must come down" at least pending a financial apocalypse

I have three in my yard right now. Seeing as I'm about 1,000 feet within the city limits I can only shoot them if A) I've spoken to all my neighbors within 600 feet and they have all given me permission to shoot the critter, B) I do not discharge my firearm within 300 feet of an inhabited dwelling, and C) I do so only if my there is an immediate threat to mine or my family's lives. We (all the neighbors) have opted for the coyote hazing method as laid out by the human society. Since we're encroaching on their space, we've decided to share. However, if they grow too bold or curious, we yell at them, toss rocks their way, keep spray at the ready if out walking dogs at night, and we have pellet & BB guns to give them the occasional pop in the hip if they get too bold.
