Finally took apart my Savage 10 FCP-SR and figured out why it would decock when I would close the bolt.
I'm not sure why sear (?) would fail like that though, I need to find a local gunsmith to replace it.

If you send it to Savage with a letter about the problem, they most likely will repair it in house for free. Just a suggestion.

A guy on the gun forum mentioned that they should take care of it as it's a safety issue, so I emailed them with the photo and asked them for a replacement sear to be sent to me.
I don't have a problem with sending the rifle in to be fixed except I'm moving out of state in 2.5 weeks and I know they wouldn't have it back to me in time, they can send the sear to me wherever and it doesn't really matter.

I could only budget to shoot that for about 15 seconds a month.

Today I spent some time helping my neighbor's friend (we've met many times and he knows I enjoy firearms) install a couple storm doors. Upon leaving he hands me a box with some goodies in it. I initially refused, but he insisted. We went back and forth a bit, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.
