That's a crazy deal. I think I paid something like $325 for mine, right after they first came out.

The M&P Shield .45 shoots very well it is a little snappy but very controllable if your a man you should be capable of handling it....

The M&P Shield 9 mm is a great gun still a little snappy

Moving to a .40 or a .45 on that gun is a non-issue. The parts that are affected are designed for the more powerful cartridges. It's not like they're just slapping the .45 moving parts onto a 9mm chassis.

Im just saying that with similar parts a gun with twice as much recoil will most likely wear out twice as fast. It will still prolly go a couple thousand rounds before any issues.
And no issues on a holster:thumbsup:

Find a local range that has one to rent and see what you like shooting more. 9mm is more than enough for a carry gun with modern powders and bullets, so if you shoot it better than the .45 (or enjoy it more) then go that route. :notsure:

Is this an online price? What are transfer fees on top of that? The lowest I've found locally is $341 out the door and $266 after $75 rebate.

Speaking as somebody with too many calibers, I'd vote to stick with what you already have. It's a lot easier if you're only maintaining an ammo stockpile for one caliber of handgun, lol.
On the other hand, 9mm is marginally cheaper to shoot. :notsure:

Seriously. Between rifles, pistols, and shotguns I'm maintaining a rotating stockpile of 11-12 different calibers, plus 3 different gauges of various birdshot, buckshot, and slugs.

Sometimes it makes me want to :frusty:

If I was going to start my collection again from scratch I'd probably have limited myself to several fewer calibers, lol

That's how it starts, haha! :goingcrazy:

I have the thumb safety on mine, but every gun that I carry has a thumb safety, so I like that consistency.

    Right now I've got 22lr (and a few boxes of 22 shorts), 223/556, 32 Win Spl, 35 Rem, 30-30, 7.62X54R, 7mm Rem Mag, 30-06, 9mm, 380, 45, 38/357, and 410ga, 20ga, & 12ga in various shot types and weights.

And I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something too...

I've seriously considered thinning the herd, but that'd mean selling something. :goingcrazy:

have the same two rifles, minus the Massachusetts boogie man features on the M&P. What sights you have on the 60? I just bought tech sights and like them

reviews are great, and stock trigger actually seems ok. Got this impression over many different forums. My 9 shield with mass trigger was awful, but an apex install made it one of my favorites to shoot.

That's actually why I got rid of my 15-22 during the great .22 shortage. Fun, accurate shooter, but it was a real ammo pig

Pretty much everything I've shot that's MA compliant has had an awful trigger.

My shield has the thumb safety because CA. I carry with mine and I dont mind it at all. I have trained to remove the safety with my thumb as i grip the gun out of my holster. Its in a very easy to reach spot and quick to do what i do as you unholster it. For what its worth mentally it makes me feel better wearing it appendix with the safety on. Even though the die hards will all mock it and say your finger is the safety, which is true but its personal preference and i dont give a shit what they say. I enjoy having the safety and in my training and practice it has not once failed me nor hindered my shooting and speed.
