Same. My carry guns all have the manual safety, and I've trained enough that now I automatically click it off as I'm drawing the gun without concious thought. It's just part of my programmed draw. If I'm drawing it to clean it or something I have to actually concentrate on NOT removing the safety, lol.

either train with it always on, or completely ignore it. But thats up to your training and what you really plan to do with it.

I really like the shield, as i trust my life with it hanging above my genitals. But the Shield 45 is a special one. I really like the added grip to it as well.

I have always carried small revolvers or Glocks so for me it's a normal and natural feeling...

Many blow hards will talk down to you and say if you cant carry without a safety, you shouldn't carry. I disagree. I am actually just now coming over to the no safety side, my latest shield has no safety and i like it. But i wont say anything either way, its what you are comfortable with. However, there have been instances where the time to chamber or deal with a safety has been an issue.

As far as training with a safety, my suggestion would be to always train WITH it. If you always train without and then accidentally flip it on, well seconds matter.

For what it's worth, I stated this just cuz of the Tactical Boys club. It is rare you will be in a gun fight. Rarer still that it will come to a draw. More than likely you will encounter a gun already drawn, because most of us don't walk around thinking about drawing on everyone we meet, and the one that already has this in mind always has the advantage. Given all that, and the fact your balls may be at stake here, by all means have the airbag AND the seat-belt.

That said, for all the arguments for appendix carry, it's scary, uncomfortable (tried it with a single stack for the hello-fit. my belly says no.) and I can't imagine that you can draw with out making body motions that look like you are doing , exactly what you are doing.

(Or laying it out to see who's longer, but that is an unfortunate coincidence.)

Do you take it to the range regularly? I suspect it has a helluva kick in 45 flava.

Yep, I'm leaning towards the MP9 because it feels just right. It's remarkably slim (.975" wide). It's something I can toss in my overnight bag and it doesn't take up much space. If I need to CC, it works for that too. On campus it can stay in my backpack.

I'm currently holding .22lr, .32, .38, 16ga., 12ga., and 5.56 ammo. Will start getting some 410ga. for my kiddo and some 9mm too.

This whole idea of tactical firearm training is a new one on me. Growing up in a rural town before the internet was a thing, we just rode our bikes to Wal-Mart, bought a brick of .22lr, set up targets in a field and went to town on them. We went to the volunteer fire dept. turkey shoots, and did our regular dove, quail, turkey, deer, squirrel, hog hunting. I'm not saying it's bad (it's really GOOD), I'd just never heard or considered it until I started watching youtube videos this year to research different firearms.

Appendix carry is the only comfortable way for me to carry IWB; driving, walking in the grocery store, eating dinner with my Wife, etc. If I had it any other location it bumps into things; chairs, other people brushing up against me, and I cannot reach it when driving. I carry an XDm Compact 45, appendix carry, and normal people cannot see the imprint, no matter the shirt I wear (untucked.)

If I had a smaller firearm I'd probably carry at 4 o'clock, or in my pocket.

I wear skinny jeans, so IWB is a no-go. In the past, I've carried off-body in a shoulder bag or backpack.

dude man all the hipsters wear skinny jeans and most of those guys I know are tacticool. I exclusively carry appendix but I'm 6'1 ish and about 175 lbs and it seems like that has a little bit to do with comfort, but I carry a big heavy revolver also and that is the most comfortable iwb spot for me

    Damn.
    I'm 5'7 and last time I checked I was 165

You could probably conceal a scoped Ruger Redhawk in 454 Casull better than I can hide a 1911 Commander:rofl:

i wear somewhat fitting clothes and prefer to keep it business casual so im still limited on size of firearm to carry.
