S&W made a bunch of money with the shield for reasons you're stating.

Are you only going to have one carry gun or multiple? A lot of people switch to something bigger in the winter because with bigger/heavier clothes they can hide a bigger gun.

If you could only buy one for both warm and cold carry, shield wins. If you're already planning on getting another one, the compact might be the better choice

My plan is to have 1 pull double duty. I do have a 1911 with a decent holster than I can hide just about anywhere in the winter. I live in New England so lots of layers to hide things in.

If you're a fan of 1911s check out Sig P938. It's not exactly the same as a 1911 but heavily inspired by it....If it's legal there.

They're legal here, I haven't had much exposure to Sig. The shop I'm going to has them in stock so I'll check them out. They look to be a little more than I'd like to spend though. I've never heard anything bad about Sig, just never owned one.

    M&p 9c 2.0 just debuted. It's still almost 1/2 an inch longer then a glock 19...

Yea that's the nice thing about polymer guns, they're cheap lol.

What about Springfield XD-e? It's essentially a hammer fired version of their xds single stack that goes up against the shield

Where are you seeing this? Brownells is listing it as 7.3" vs 7.36" for the 19 (as per the Glock site). Doesn't mean they're right though.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
just picked up a 17.5..love it

Hmm, I don't know about the Gen 5. Maybe it has a smaller hump. Just pulled my Gen 3 out - it's just over 7" at its longest measured in a line parallel to the slide.

S&W M&P Shield .45 got added to the collection this evening. Thanks for the input. Once I got both in my hand, the Shield just felt a lot more comfortable.

i was 3xpecting more like a 3 or 4 lol. i didnt have a small soldering iron tip and just went to town since that 19 is pretty much a beater/truck gun at this point. i saw some in person for the first time after i did it and realized i should have used a much finer tip lol

thats still i good bit finer than mine. im loving the gen 5 though. i missed out on gen 4s so this is my first time with the smaller grip and bigger mag release. i also just like the full size better even though i have pretty small hands. if they had a 5th gen 34 or 17l i would have gotten that. ive never used stock glock sights before so im actually kinda excited to try them out. i think the rear sight has a bigger notch now than before and supposedly they are better plastic.

im just a glock guy. i hate how boring they are and how they feel in the hand but when shooting them none of that matters. just got a 43 and plan on selling my shield

Cool story from a toyota owner (the prefered method of terrorist transport when camels arent available) i feel like you said supplied which one could infer that means at a free or major discounted rate, but more accurately they sold guns to terrorist...i could be wrong but like car dealerships arent held responsible for the someone wrecking a car they sold them nor are manufacturers pending no defect on their part. When terrorist buy food or gas or water or clothes do you avoid the associated brands of the aforementioned items?
