Very true. Right now most of my spare $$ is tied up with holiday shopping, though. :pout:
    Maybe in the spring.

I already have the host. My cz455 really could use a Dead Air mask. We'll see what I have leftover after Christmas shopping. I might just have to do a little shopping for myself. No one will even know for at least 9 months anyway.

Those 180gr aren't subsonic, are they? I grabbed a box of subsonic 9mm on time and was surprised at how much it affected POI

Meh, not a huge difference. I wouldn't think that it'd affect POI as much as you're saying it did for that sort of speed differential.

Bought a Primary Arms 4-14x44 ACSS for the Grendel today. It's for a 556 but I think I can just use a Ballistics Calculator to dial my shots in right

Yeah, rethinking the difference in stated velocity and poi made me think a light load. Going to the range again next week and I will try 1 to 1 comparison with the same ammo with a different lot #.

I'm pretty sure that scope is the 556/308 Either way the lines are all mills so with a dope sheet/calculator you definitely should have no issues unless I'm totally wrong.

Either way I have this scope on my Tikka and its awesome. Turrets are a little squishy but it holds zero well so far.

I once worked with a guy that would write some numbers (50,100,150 yards) of a couple different grain rounds on a notecard sized scrap of cardboard. Then tape that near the check weld of the rifle that his baby girl (9-10yo at that time) used to deer hunt. She’s harvested 10+ a year for years and never had to track any.

Any sub $100 suggestions for a red dot for a shotgun? I want the reflex/heads up style and not the scope looking kind.

If its a 12g shotgun Id really either save up or look for a used Burris Fastfire or the Vortex offering. Ive seen used Fastfire's sell for 100-120 buck range.

Shotguns (and big bore rifles) are hard on cheap optics. I had a cheap NC Star one someone had given me that i put on my mossberg 500. It lasted like 40-50 rounds before the zero was noticeably messed up. Re-zero'd it and it lasted about as long again. That was with birdshot for skeet shooting so with slugs it probably would have been more noticeable earlier.

That’s what I was afraid of happening. I looked for some iron sights but didn’t find anything solid enough for my liking. So I got a rail and haven’t found a red dot yet either.

Why is it when you go to a gun show and you see a table with tons of parts for a gun you dont have you just skim by that table...then you get assigned to clean the M1 garands for my local American Legion and you go to the next gun show looking for that particular table the vendor is gone!!:frusty:
