How many long guns to you own at this moment in time? And how many long guns do you plan on owning in the next several years?

If the answer to either question is more than 4 or 5, you need a bigger safe and should definitely pass on this safe, even if it is a good deal. Especially if they're bolt guns; those basically take up two slots no matter how you position them.

That's a valid argument, I'm also closing on a new house in a week so I will have space for a bigger safe. I'm not too brokenhearted about this deal since I would prefer a bigger one anyways

    Sure 12 without scopes :anonymous:

Besides it's perfect for the baby I plan on having for the time being and then it'll be my ammo safe for when I buy the liberty safe ;) $154 is a deal no matter how you hate on it

    The voice of experience.
The 12 gun safe that I started out with holds pathetically less than 12 guns, if you want any access to them. I had 6 in it (3 of them were small skinny .22's and a break-action single-barrel H&R 20ga shotgun), when I considered it over full and started searching for something bigger. I couldn't access the gun in back without pulling out the two in front if it, unless I wanted to bang them all against each other trying to do it.
Additionally, with the ammo shelf in place, the interior was too short to accommodate either my Remington 700 or either my 887 or my old 12ga Mossberg bolt shotgun. So, I'm of the opinion that a so-called 12 gun is too small for anybody with more than a couple of long guns. :notsure:

It was on their website and if you order online and do in store pickup it should drop the price

Quick Q: How does your wife feel about it being in the closet? I ask because I'm about to try to convince my wife to let me move the safe into our bedroom and her closet.

General rule of thumb for safe purchase is that you should take the advertised capacity and divide it in half to get a more accurate number of long guns that will comfortably fit

Take the shelving and gun racks out, you can fit more in.
