Most of my bags have some sort of mounting solution designed into them, but I have seen some companies that sell rigid molle / loop velcro panels made to slip into bags. I'll see what I can find.

I have a Maxpidition insert that also holds a spare mag with velcro backing. I swap it from my bag to console in my truck I need to buy another one.

Would be great to have a holster right inside that you could just open your bag and quickly draw. I haven't seen anything like that. I guess molle inside would be an easy way to mount a holster. Those panels you posted might work for that.

I've thought for a while that if someone was to make a rigid insert for popular bags they would sell pretty well, especially if the price point is cheaper than a dedicated bag. I'm thinking something with 4 sides, i.e. a main panel, and rigid sides and a bottom to keep the bag from collapsing in on itself. Maybe even a 5 sided option that establishes free space around the holster so you can grab the gun without having to dig past a laptop, etc.

My biggest complaint with most bags intended for concealed carry is placement/access. The 5.11 Covrt 18 has the CCW pouch in between the outer admin pouch and the main compartment. It hangs a lot of weight off of the back and sits very strange when the main compartment isn't full. Maxpeditions are a bit better, but the CCW compartment is typically against the user's back, so if you are using the bag for EDC and work, the gun will have a pronounced profile and dig into the wearer's back.

Compartment depth is another issue. It seems that most bag makers add all of these pockets, pouches, and features, but most are useless once you start to put stuff in them.

I agree completely. An insert would be perfect. I used a Direct Action Ghost. It's one of my favorite bags. They have an in the main compartment there is a pocket closed to the your back, that would be a perfect place just open the bag and your firearm is right there.

Wasn't Dom Raso trying to come up with a bag that does this?

I've got the Vertx EDC Gamut. It makes a good gun bag OR a good laptop/work bag. For me, it isn't useful for both at the same time.

Now, one thing I will say for it, if I am carrying on my person and decided to carry a couple of spare mags in a pouch on the molle panel it is perfect for that.

I really want to get a CZ p09, super comfy when I handled it at the gunshop, but safari land doesn't make a duty holster for it, so I think I'm gonna be looking at the full size P320.

Thanks... There goes my tax refund. Looking at the po' boy 30 can handle up to a 338 lapua. As a hunting setup for deer I think it'll work great. It weights 25oz but at the same time if your bench shooting or shooting with a rest weight isnt really an issue in my opinion.

That's exactly why I went with a KelTec Sub2k instead. Of course, I got one chambered in 9mm, since I already have _____ pistols chambered in that round. And the corresponding _____ boxes of ammo on hand for them. Not to mention that my primary carry gun is 9mm, which simplifies the ammo I'd have to keep in the truck if the KelTec graduates to truck gun duty.

My buddy has a 995TS, the 9mm brother to this 10mm. Thing is fun AF, extroardinarily ammo tolerant, and is getting a bullpup stock soon. Avoid the pro-mag 15 round mags, they blow. Haven't tested the 20 round redball but that's in the mailbox waiting for testing. Worth every bit of the 250-300 it can be had for.

Vertx Courier, Vertx Belt Adapter Panel, Maxpedition velcro mag loops, Megiddo Tactical Group holster...bag also has a leather notepad, 10 file folders, and a Panasonic toughbook plus pens, chargers, and a handheld recorder and a kabar TDI

Best setup I've come up with for carrying off body in a bag...pistol and mags are in a separate section so they stay concealed when you pull out a laptop etc but it's extremely easy to draw and fire from
