Here is a good reference. The standard tlr1 would be the far left and the HL model on the right. Disregard the middle. That is for their rifle lights

    I personally haven't haven't used a TLR-1s, but i have used a TLR-1 and i really like it.
How do you activate the strobe?

I like how simple the on-off is on the TLR-1 and wouldn't want to accidentally activate the strobe.

I don't really care for strobe unless i'm playing around, the strobe messes with my eyes (maybe because i have astigmatism?)

Its actually nail polish. There are several different ways to do it. Crayon and nail polidh are most common. Paint pens work too. But nail polish is easier to apply than paint but lasts way longer than crayon. So its best overall option.

Just apply a light coat of nail polish, then let it dry and wipe thr excess off with "acetone free" nail polish remover. All of it comes right off but it sticks inside the engravings perfectly. Repeat as necessary to achieve desired coats (i did 2) then clean gun and apply nice coat of oil as desired.

maybe the handcuff key :notsure: .... no wait i know, its the HAM radio huh? Lol. Actually im not. If i was id have hi cap mags. Im in Cali so im stuck with 10 rnds for now :( But i am training for LE however. So very soon hopefully

    95 taco,

Here are a few other pics of the paint process for reference...

    Gaunt596,

The light is activated as normal by either clicking it up for on or holding down for momentary activation. The strobe is actuvated by turning off amd quickly back on the light. So if your hokding the switch in momentary position, you would release and quickly press it again and it will strobe until released. Then itll be solid again. So its just a double tap to activate strobe. You can walk around the house with the light on solid and upon identifying a target, just tap the switch to start strobe. It should disorient a person enough to gain verbal control. atleast give you an extra chance to deter the subject before resulting to deadly force. Gives you an extra second or 2 to make a decision

The strobe is 1) one more thing to worry about when your adrenaline is going and 2) just as likely to disorient you. If I have my firearm out in my home I'm not looking to disorient anyone, especially myself.

I used the strobe to flag people down or signal to others in the desert when it's dusty or dark

I have a strobe function on my flashlight for work...in 7 years I've never used it to disorient anyone. It works great when used in conjunction with an orange cone for directing traffic though.

Hey guys. Quick question. I am moving to AZ and as many of you may know, we are able to conceal carry even without a ccw if you are at least 21, no prior felonys, blah blah. I am looking at either getting a glock 22 or glock 23. I really like full sized handguns so I am pointing more at the g22 but if I end up realizing that I want to conceal carry most of the time, I know a g23 would be nice. I'm not really interested in sub compacts. For you g22 owners, are they pretty easy to have on you/conceal?

I've concealed carried Jen's G23 in AZ and I wouldnt want to conceal anything bigger. My CZ999 is a little bigger and it is noticeable. Just my .02, I'd carry a G27 if I could, I really want one.

At the 3 o'clock position is fine. Only downside is the grip is too long. Unless you get a holster with a 15* foward cant. I can conceal my 23 very well it barely prints on my shirt. I'm with Aaron. Ill get a 26 someday or a m&pc or shield...

Why don't you just open carry? It's legal there... :D

I've thought of that too but I'd only do that if I had a Blackhawk Level 3 type of holster. There's some thing about open carry that kinda freaks me out. Like someone will get a hold of it.

As long as you know where your gun is at all times, and have a holster that isn't easy for someone else to get at you should be fine. Plus, enough people open carry there I think you SHOULD be fine.

Buddy of mine does it a lot in the PHX area.

Thanks Aaron. I'll be buying from jgsales, right next to my parents house in prescott. They have the 22 and 23 in OD there so I'll hold both of them and see what feels best. Were you able to fit a streamlight on Jen's g23?

Nice. Also thinking about picking up a mosin carbine when I'm out there. Pretty sweet rifle for the money.
